Gardening Shaker Card

Hi my friends, today I have a shaker card that I made for a friend who likes to garden. I picked a paper pad that has pretty muted colors and die-cut everything from the pad, so I didn't have to worry about the colors coordinating, it's done for me.
The Botanical Solarium Etched Die Set from Spellbinders was used and includes the flowers, pot, watering can and gardening tools.

I also used these other items from Spellbinders Hugs Sentiments Clear Stamp Set to stamp the sentiment in the center of the shaker.

Geo Prints Clear Stamp Set was used to stamp lines and stamps on the decorative paper background to add more interest.

Window Shaker Card

Hi crafty friends! Today I have a window shaker card with a pretty Springtime view. I used the Windows With a View Collection from Spellbinders.

The flowers were die-cut from Precision Cardstock Spring Colors using the Up In The Air Die Set and the kite was die-cut from white cardstock using the same set.

The background was embossed using the Dimensional Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder on peach cardstock.

The sentiment was made using the So Many Sentiments Die Set.

Quick and Easy Friendship Shaker Card

Making shaker cards is always fun but sometimes it's hard to make a round shaker and getting the foam adhesive to go in a circle. Well Scrapbook Adhesives has made it easy with 3D Foam Circle Frames!

To make this card decorative paper from a 12 x 12 paper pad was used. As a card maker I find that I have sheets with large patterns left after I have used up all of the smaller patterned sheets, and this is a great way to use up those sheets. The pretty paper was die-cut using a mini slimline die.

Next two circle dies were placed on white glitter paper to cut the smaller circle, then the largest of the two, plus a bigger one were placed on purple cardstock to die-cut a circle frame.

Take the largest of the dies used and diecut acetate.  Use the Dual Tip Glue Pen to glue the two circle frames on top of it as shown.

Find the right size of circle frame on a sheet of 3D Foam Circle Frames, remove it from the carrier and place it towards the top of the die-cut decorative paper. Do NOT remove the carrier exposing the sticky yet, first stamp the sentiment in the center of the circle using black ink.

Place shaker bits in the center of the frame, remove the carrier and place the acetate on top and press all around the circle to insure adhesion.

Floral Foil Shaker Card

To make the background, four sizes of Premium Double-Sided Tape in, 1", 1/2", 1/4", 1/8", were placed diagonally across a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white piece of cardstock. Using Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets from the Nature and Pastel Sets were used to create a marbled look by crumpling up a piece of pink foil and rolling it in your hands, opening it up and placing it on one of the lines of Premium Double-Sided Tape (with the pretty side facing you).  Give it a rub and remove the foil carrier. You will then place a sheet of black foil from the Foil Transfer Sheets over the tape that has the pink foil and rub.  This will create a vein look. You will continue this with other colors until all of the tape is covered.

The panel was then die-cut using a scallop die.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L makes shaker card making so easy by using the 3D Foam Circle Frames White. You don't have to worry about any of your shaker bits falling out. All you do is pick the size of circle that you need and place it on your panel.

Then die-cut a circle that fits inside of the foam circle, stamp it with a sentiment with black ink and emboss it with clear embossing powder. Add a couple of self-adhesive pearls. Glue the circle to the inside of the foam circle, I used a liquid glue for this so I could move the circle around while the glue is wet to get it centered.

Next, the shaker bits were placed in the center of the foam circle.

Flowers were diecut twice from white cardstock and once from black cardstock. On one of the white cardstock pieces, pink was sponged on the flowers and the flowers were cut off. On the other white piece the stems were sponed with green ink. The pink flowers were then glued onto the green stems using the Dual Tip Glue Pen.  The flowers were then layered onto the black die-cut pieces so just of a bit of the black can be seen to make a shadow.

A scallop circle was die-cut from white cardstock and the center was die-cut using a circle die. Acetate was placed behind the scallop piece using the Dual Tip Glue Pen.  The flowers were glued to the left side of the shaker also using the Dual Tip Glue Pen. The shaker panel was then mounted to a green card using the E-Z Runner Grand.

Watercolor Winter Shaker Card

Today I have this Winter Shaker Card up on the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog showing how easy it is to make a shaker card using their foam adhesives. Be sure to stop by thieir blog to see all of the adhesives that they have available.

To make my card I ink blended blue and purple inks on watercolor paper then went over it with a wet brush to make it look like it was watercolored. Once this panel is dry, stamp the snowflake from with VeraMark Ink and emboss it with white embossing powder. A pinetree die was used to cut white glitter cardstock.

The E-Z Runner Grand was used to tape pine trees to the bottom of the watercolor panel, then the panel was taped to a blue card.

Now the 3D Foam Circle Frames make shaker card making easy!  After stamping the sentiment with VersaMark Ink in the center of the card and embossing with white embossing powder, one of the foam circles was placed on the card the the sentiment would be in the center.

Two circle dies were used to cut a circle frame from white glitter cardstock that will cover the 3D Foam Circle.

Die-cut acetate using the larger die, then us the E-Z Runner Grand to tape the back of the circle frame and place it over the acetate. After placing shaker bits in the center of the 3D Foam Circle, put the circle frame on top of the foam.

Now go see all of the adhesives on the Scrapbook Adhesives Site.

Corny Candy Shaker Tag

I'm getting ready for Halloween and making a few shaker tags, I used the super cute new Corny Candy Perfectly Clear Stamp Set from Stampendous.  The set has a candy corn and candy pumpkin stamp with a bunch of different faces that you can stamp inside of it, it even has a unicorn.  Take a look at this set!

  • Stamp Corny Candy on Mixed Media White Paper, color with colored pencils and cut out.
  • To make the shaker use the Fitted Frames B Die Set to cut out a frame from decorative paper.
  • Glue acetate to the back of the frame and apply foam tape around the back of the frame.
  • Stamp the sentiment on white cardstock with black ink and glue to orange cardstock that has been cut the same size as the frame.
  • Sprinkle Champagne Crushed Glass Glitter in the center of the orange paper, to help keep the shaker bits from sticking to the acetate, rub it with a new dryer sheet then adhere the frame over this.
  • Glue the Corny Candy to the frame and glue ribbon to the top.

Have a creative day!
