A Glittery Hello

Today I'm playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, the theme is Anything Goes.  I'm using the new Stampendous Big Brush Hello stamp and It's layered on a handmade glittery background, the directions are below.

1.  Stamp Big Brush Hello on acetate with Black StazOn ink and set aside to dry.
2.  Make the glitter background with the Moroccan Mesh Metal Stencil using the Double Glitter Technique, you can see it HERE with Crystal and Gold Micro Glitters.
3.  Layer glitter panel to a larger black panel and glue to a purple card.
4.  Attach the acetate piece to the glitter panel by using a couple of small dots of Zip Dry glue.  Then place Dot Sparklers on the acetate to cover the glue spots.

This Poinsettia Pattern card is one of my favorites from the catalog, in person it really shimmers with all of the glitter used to make the pattern.  Here's how my card was made;

1. Rub glycerin soap on the back of the Poinsettia Pattern stencil and place it on top of Double Sided Mouning Tape that has been cut diagonally.
2. Sprinkle with Red Micro Fine Glitter, rub in and shake off excess. Remove stencil and sprinkle with Crystal Micro Glitter, rub in and shake off excess.
3. Glue glittered piece to a white panel and line with a thin strip of washi tape.
4. Stencil one of the poinsettias on the white panel with red ink. Once dry over stamp using the Merry Scroll and black ink, emboss with clear.
5.
Add Red Dot Sparklers, mount to a black panel and glue onto a red card.

Baby's Birthday

This baby card has several fun techniques that add a little extra zing for that special occasion.  The balloons are embossed and the background is made using a stencil and glitters.  Be sure to stop by the Stampendous website to take a look at the project section for some inspriation.

Here is how my card was made;

1.  Stamp Balloon Bunny on white paper oval with black ink and color with pencils.  Using a VersaMark Pen, go over one of the colored balloons and emboss it with the embossing powder from the Shimmer Shine Embossing Kit that matches the balloon.  Continue to do this one balloon at a time. Chalk around the image with blue chalk using a flat brush.
2.  Make the background with the Mosaic Swirls stencils using the double glitter technique with Crystal and Iced Blue Micro Glitter.  Layer onto a green panel.
3.  Stamp Baby from the Animal Mobile Perfectly Clear Stamp Set in black on white paper die cut with Fitted Frames, layered onto a yellow panel diecut with a larger Fitted Frame.  Color with pencils.
4.  Glue background and oval onto card as shown and pop up Baby.

Metal Stencil Duo

Stampendous just released some really great new Metal Stencil Duo Sets at CHA, and all week the Design Team will be sharing their creations so you can see the many ways they can be used.  Since Valentine's Day is fast approaching, I used the Heart Duo Stencil Set with the Double Glitter Technique (click to see video tutorial) to make a pretty sparkly card.  Here is how my card was made;

1.  Cut Double Sided Mounting Paper the size of the duo Stencil. Remove the carrier from one side and place on white cardstock.
Heart Duo Stencil Set
2.   Rub the back of the patterned stencil with Coconut Soap or a vegetable oil soap.  Remove the carrier from one side of the Double Sided Mounting Paper and place the stencil, soap side down on the sticky paper and lightly rub the stencil.  The soap is rubbed on the stencil so the stencil can be removed from the paper.
3.  Sprinkle Red Micro Glitter over the stencil and rub it into the paper with your finger.  Shake off excess glitter and place back into the jar.  Hold the piece over the trash can and flick the back of the paper so excess glitter falls off.  Holding the piece upside down over the trash can, gently remove the paper from the stencil.
4.  With piece on your work surface, lightly sprinkle with Micro Crystal Glitter, rub into the paper with your finger and shake off excess.  Do NOT return this to the jar since some of the red glitter may also come off.
5.  Turn piece over, lay heart stencil on the back and trace the heart.  Cut out and set aside.  Here is a close up of the heart but you just can't see how pretty and sparkly the glitter is.

6.  Dry emboss a strip of black cardstock with the Diamond Grid Stencil and glue to the left side of a white panel that's 1/4" smaller than a red card.  Glue white panel to card.

7.  Glue heart diagonally to card with Zip Dry Glue and apply tiny self adhesive pearls to the black panel.

8.  Stamp sentiment from the Love Always Perfectly Clear Set with Onyx Black VersaFine Ink.
