Boat Docking

Hi, my crafty friends today's card uses the beautiful scenic Boat Docking stamp from Stampendous, how I wish I could be on that dock enjoying the water!

Here's how my card was made-

  • Stamp Boat Docking on white cardstock with black ink and color with colored pencils.
  • Layer onto a larger black and red panels set aside.
  • Glue the decorative paper onto a larger white panel and tie white and brown twine around the bottom before gluing to a red card.
  • Mount Nautical Anchor on the card with foam squares.
  • Stamp sentiment from the Ocean Wisdom Perfectly Clear Set on white cardstock with black ink and cut out using the Fitted Frames A Die Cut Set.

Valentine's Forever

Hi my friends, I'm up on the Rubbernecker Blog today with this Valentine's Day card.  It's not always easy making a Valentine's Day card for the guys in our life.  We're so used to making pretty Valentine's, so I decided to go in a different direction with a bit of grunge.  My husband will really appreciate this!
I used the  Sm Heart Outline Stitch Die which cuts the solid heart and the frame all at once.  The spots that are stamped in gray are from the Splatter Stains set and the Forever which is stamped with VersaMark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder is from the Best Friends Etc set.

Whimsy Wednesday- You're Darn Tootin'

Happy Whimsy Wednesday!  I have another card using the Old Geezer Stamp Set and it's paired with the new Wonky Window 1 Die that has been stamped with the Buffalo Plaid Background Stamp in red.

The Old Geezer is colored with Prisma colored pencils and he's shadowed with blue decorative chalk.  And to make it just a little extra funny, I added glitter to the gas plume.

I hope you have a creative day!

You Spark Up My Life

It's not always easy finding cute stamps to make cards for boys but these are great.  I used the words from this set to pare with the Screw Loose Hug stamp or you can use the set alone to make fun cards.
ScrewLoose N Sparky Perfectly Clear Stamps
Here is how my card was made. 1.  Stamp gears from the Screwloose N Sparky Set onto glossy paper with VersaMark ink and brayer with lettuce Adirondack ink.  Layer onto blue paper.
2.  Stamp Screwloose Hug on white paper with black ink, color with pencils and layer onto orange and blue papers.
3.  Stamp gears from the same set onto silver glossy paper with black ink and emboss with clear embossing powder.  Cut out and glue blue paper.
4.  Stamp sentiment and thinking bubble on white paper with black ink, out line thinking bubble with yellow.
5.  Mount pieces to card as shown.

Have A Blast Birthday

Yesterday was my nephews 3rd birthday party and I got this great new stamp set "Hot Rocketz" from Stampendous just in time to make a card for him. To make it, the rocket was
1. Stamped in a black embossing powder that I added glitter to and then water colored it with watercolor pencils.
2. Then I colored over it with a VersaMark marker and embossed it with clear. I was worried that it would smear but happily it didn't!
3. Next the panel was sponged with stonewashed and denim Adirondack inks, when done rubbed the embossed area with a paper towel to remove any excess ink. Stamp stars randomly.
4. This was then layered onto several panels. Circle and star Class A'Peels were added to the edge for just a touch of bling.
5. The planet was water colored and glittered before cutting out and popping up.
6. Everything was mounted on a white card that was randomly stamped with the star swirls. It is hard to see in the picture but the white card was layered onto a dark blue panel to give it a framed affect.
Recipe
Stamps- Stampendous
Inks- stonewashed and denim Adirondack
Plus- stickers by Stampendous, glitter glue, foam squares, clear and black embossing powder, water colored pencils

Today I don't live in sunny Southern California, today it is rainy Southern California! I have had plans for today for about two weeks. I was supposed to get together with a friend I haven't seen for a while, go shopping and go to lunch. Well because of the rain and fog the portion of the freeway she takes to get here is closed, we are both so disappointed but hope to get together after the holidays, on the bright side we will get to shop the after Christmas sales, woo hoo!
Later today I will brave the rain and go grocery shopping, not my idea of fun in the rain but it needs to be done.
Thanks for stopping by today!

My Man

This is a quick and easy card to make, my favorite kind! It is called a two way fold card and the dimensions can be found here. I used papers by Bo Bunny, they are patterned on both sides. The word stamp is by Great Impressions and the alphabet stickers are by Stampendous.

Here is how it looks after you untie the card.

And this is with the card lifted up. I have left it blank so I can write something sweet to my husband :)
Thanks for visiting!

Masculine Just For You

In honor of Father's Day, I've made some masculine cards and here is one of them. My Dad and my husbands Dad are no longer with us but I still like to make masculine cards so I made them more generic so they could be used for different occasions. The decorative papers are by Provo Craft, the stamp is by Stampendous as well as the stickers. The medallion was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with chocolate embossing powder, punched out and sponged with mushroom Adirondack ink. The ones at the top and bottom are glued flat and the center one is popped up with foam squares.
