Like my FaceBook page, Stamp This, I'll be posting the winners and it could be you!

For my project today, I made a pencil holder out of my canister and decorated it with the Cottage Home stamp and die set.

After I glued my canister together using 3 in 1 Glue, I took Brilliance Ink pads in Pearlescent Lime and Pearlescent Sky Blue and rubbed the pads directly on the canister.  You can't tell from the picture but is gives a really pretty shimmery look.
Next I stamped all sides with with the peeled paint stamp from the Toxic stamp set using Pearlescent Sky Blue Brilliance ink. This was then set aside.

Now to make the Cottage Home.  The dies were used to cut out the home and the roof.  The home was die cut from light green paper with the edges sponged with Peeled Paint Distress ink.  The door, window and flowers were stamped with Onyx Black VersaFine ink, heat set then colored with Prisma colored pencils.  The roof was die cut from burlap paper.  The marks on the roof were stamped with Jet Black StazOn Ink. The windows were stamped onto Mixed Media White Paper with Onyx Black VersaFine ink, heat set, colored with Prisma pencils, cut out and glued onto the roof with 3 in 1 Glue.  The House was then glued onto the canister.

I had some individual white flower pieces and sponged two with Lime Brilliance and two with Coral Brilliance, I layered one of each color together and glued two sets to each side. A pink pearl was put in the middle.

Embossing With Color

Fran Seiford, owner and founder of Stampendous has a new book out, "Embossing Powder TECHNIQUES from A to Z, and is 104 pages of everything you need to know about embossing and more! My card uses Technique F- on page 25. Wow, what a fun and easy way to add color and sparkle to your projects!  Here is a close up look at the flowers, it's hard to photograph the sparkle but it's there.

You can get this book at your local stamp store or order it directly from Stampendous.

If you need a heat gun to try these embossing techniques, Stampendous now carries a Wagner Embossing Heat Tool that is made by Milwaukee.  It's long lasting and durable with more power and precision than the kind you can buy in big box stores.   I have to say Milwaukee knows how to make a heat gun, I've had mine for over 10 years and it's still going strong!!

My project today is a gift bag made from a lunch bag.  To make it, the Petite Fern stencil was stippled with DecoArt Acrylic Gesso several times and set aside to dry.  The topper was made by die cutting white and goldenrod cardstock using the Fitted Frames B set.  The white die cut was run through an embossing machine, removed with the Quarterfoil Stencil. With the stencil still on top of the white paper, lightly spray with green spray.  Once dry, fold both die cut pieces, glue together and tie with May Arts Ribbon. Glue this to the top of a folded bag.  Apply a Fastener Tab to the bag and topper, this will seal the bag but can be reopened and sealed over and over again.
Stamp Thank you from the Say It Today Perfectly Clear Stamp Set with brown ink. Die cut smaller frames from white and goldenrod paper, stamp with brown ink, layer and glue to bag.  Add green rhinestones as shown.

Metal Stencil Duo

Stampendous just released some really great new Metal Stencil Duo Sets at CHA, and all week the Design Team will be sharing their creations so you can see the many ways they can be used.  Since Valentine's Day is fast approaching, I used the Heart Duo Stencil Set with the Double Glitter Technique (click to see video tutorial) to make a pretty sparkly card.  Here is how my card was made;

1.  Cut Double Sided Mounting Paper the size of the duo Stencil. Remove the carrier from one side and place on white cardstock.
Heart Duo Stencil Set
2.   Rub the back of the patterned stencil with Coconut Soap or a vegetable oil soap.  Remove the carrier from one side of the Double Sided Mounting Paper and place the stencil, soap side down on the sticky paper and lightly rub the stencil.  The soap is rubbed on the stencil so the stencil can be removed from the paper.
3.  Sprinkle Red Micro Glitter over the stencil and rub it into the paper with your finger.  Shake off excess glitter and place back into the jar.  Hold the piece over the trash can and flick the back of the paper so excess glitter falls off.  Holding the piece upside down over the trash can, gently remove the paper from the stencil.
4.  With piece on your work surface, lightly sprinkle with Micro Crystal Glitter, rub into the paper with your finger and shake off excess.  Do NOT return this to the jar since some of the red glitter may also come off.
5.  Turn piece over, lay heart stencil on the back and trace the heart.  Cut out and set aside.  Here is a close up of the heart but you just can't see how pretty and sparkly the glitter is.

6.  Dry emboss a strip of black cardstock with the Diamond Grid Stencil and glue to the left side of a white panel that's 1/4" smaller than a red card.  Glue white panel to card.

7.  Glue heart diagonally to card with Zip Dry Glue and apply tiny self adhesive pearls to the black panel.

8.  Stamp sentiment from the Love Always Perfectly Clear Set with Onyx Black VersaFine Ink.
