Best Wishes

Here's a card that was inspired by the glitter cards over at the Scor-Pal site. I love glitter and they have really great rolls of double sided sticky tape that come in many different sizes. Here is how to make the card;

1. Place a strip of the 1 1/2" Scor tape across your card and cut to fit.

2. Remove the paper backing and punch with a large leaf punch.

3. Place the paper backing back on the tape leaving a thin line of the tape exposed at the top. Sprinkle with dark green glitter and rub into the tape with your finger. Shake off excess glitter and remove the paper backing.

4. Sprinkle tape with copper glitter ( it will go over the green glitter but won't stick) and rub into tape with your finger. Shake off excess glitter.

5. Place a strip of 1/4" tape below the leafs and apply dark green glitter.

6. Place a strip of 1/8" tape below this and apply copper glitter.

7. Stamp a sentiment at the bottom right with sepia VersaFine ink and add a circle sticker on each side of the sentiment. Stamp and stickers by Stampendous.

Have a wonderful weekend :)

I made this card for Merci's sketch challenge and SCS color challenge which was to use sage, chocolate and vanilla. I don't have these Stamp n Up colors so I did the best I could. I used a stamp set from Hero Arts and the giraffe is stamped on vellum, embossed with chocolate embossing powder and colored with markers from the back. It's the first time I used the giraffe, he's pretty cute! The dots on the background are stamped with VersaMark ink.
Well tomorrow my son has his promotion from 6th grade, where does the time go? I can't believe I won't have a child in elementary school any more, it's both exciting and sad. We are all starting new phases of our lives.
Have a great week :)

Special Friends

Happy Memorial Day, hope you all are having a great long weekend. Today I made this card for the Mojo39 sketch challenge over at Poetic Artistry. I stamped and embossed the sentiment which is from Stampendous in VersaMark ink and champagne embossing powder. Then it is over stamped with a stamp from Paper Inspirations in citrus Adirondack ink and the edges are sponged with wisteria ColorBox chalk ink. The decorative paper is from Provo Craft "The Slab".
Thanks for stopping by :)

You're Special

I really wish glitter would show up on scanned images! The whole background on this is glittery and beautiful, it just doesn't translate :( All stamps are by Hero Arts, circle stickers by Stampendous and the corner punch is Stamp n Up. After I stamped the background image, I added two way glue and glitter over the image, it's so pretty IRL.
We had a beautiful weekend here and it was very hot. My daughters slumber party went great and there wasn't any drama with the girls! They made really cute tie dyed shirts from a kit that we got from Michael's, that kept them busy for a few hours, then they each made and decorated individual cakes, ate dinner and watched movies. My husband is supposed to show me how to put the pictures from my camera onto the computer, when he does that I'll post pictures.
Have a great week!

Sympathy Card

I have this great clear stamp set from Paper Inspirations that have four sayings, sympathy, birthday, celebrate and thank you. This set is wonderful and it looks so elegant. The background stamp is also by Paper Inspirations and is called aged paper creases, it is also one of my favorites, you can instantly age anything!
1. Stamp the sympathy on a cream panel with VersaMark ink and emboss with champagne embossing powder.
2. Stamp the aged paper with latte Adirondack ink and stipple the edges.
3. Stamp the leaves which are by Stampendous with lettuce Adirondack ink re-inking every other time. Layer this onto burgundy and gold papers.
4. Glue a skeleton leaf to a burgundy panel, tie with gold cord and add beads. Glue to a cream card and mount stamped piece.
My daughter is having her slumber party Saturday so I'll have a house full of teenagers and they will be staying inside because it will be over 100 degrees here for the next 3-4 days then it will drop down to the high 90's, ah a cooling trend :) Have a great weekend :)

Love To You

This is one of my favorite cards, I love cards with gold!
1. Stamp small images, by Stampendous, onto pearlized card stock with VersaMark ink, emboss with champagne embossing powder and punch out with a square punch, then layer it onto gold paper.
2. Stamp heart onto cream vellum with beige Brilliance (IRL it has shimmer to it), tear the bottom and tape to a pearlized square card using vellum tape.
3. Stamp sentiment at the bottom with VersaMark ink and emboss with champagne embossing powder.
4. Mount stamped images to card as shown and apply gold corner mount stickers, by Stampendous, to the top corners.

Hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day. We hosted Mother's Day and had 16 people over, half were my sister-in laws inlaws. We had a nice time but no rest for me. I'm looking forward to this week, the weather will be beautiful here. Starting Wednesday it will be in the 90's which is a huge jump from today which will be about 68, brrrrrrrr! I hope the weather is beautiful where you are and have a great week :)

I love this decorative paper so I made a card around the paper. My weakness is paper and seem to buy it every place I go so it wasn't a problem matching the decorative paper with paper I already had! The flower punches are from Michael's, the stickers are by Stampendous and the stamp is by Hero Arts.
Well my daughter's birthday was yesterday and she is now 15 and letting me know she will be able to drive in 6 months! Boy is that a scary thought. We better start saving our pennies for car insurance and driving lessons. When I was a teenager (just a few years ago, ha ha) we had driving lessons free through the high school, oh the good old days :)
Have a great weekend and a nice Mother's Day.

Party Invitations

My daughters birthday is Thursday and her party is in a couple of weeks, so I've been busy making invitations. I get bored making them all the same so I have made this one and the one below. Pink is her favorite color so that is where I started. The pink card stock is by SU and the decorative paper is from Provo Craft "The Slab". Corner punch and tag punches are by SU, the cupcake by Hero Arts, the words are by Inque Boutique and the stickers by Stampendous. Wow, a little bit of everything!
For this purse card, the stamps are by Inque Boutique and stickers by Stampendous. You can't tell from the scan, but the frosting is glittered. To make the half circles I used a circle Coluzzle.
We will be celebrating Melanie's birthday three separate days, first on her birthday with just our family, on Mother's day with extended family and in two weeks she's having a slumber party. We really know how to drag things out around here!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week :)

Watercolor Card

I love this flower image by Stampendous, it's so pretty but it is a little time consuming to color. I stamped the image on white card stock with black StazOn ink and colored it with watercolor pencils. After it dried, it was cut out and layered onto black and salmon colored panels.
The card is stamped on the left side with a harlequin stamp from Hero Arts with VersaMark ink.
The word stamps are from Stampendous and stamped with black StazOn. The three circle stickers were added for just a little bling :)
Hope you all have a great weekend, we will be going to the airshow tomorrow in Riverside. We are really looking forward to it, since it has been a few years since we have been able to go. It's going to be a really hot day so I'll have to be sure to remember the sunscreen or we will all look like lobsters!
