Yoga Birthday Dog

Do you have a friend with a GOOD sense of humor?  Then this is the card for them!  The sentiment is from the Aging Perfectly Set, you will just love all of the humorous sentiments in this set, they made me laugh out loud.  The dog is the  Downward Dog, don't they go perfectly together?!!  And of course, if your friend doesn't have a sense of humor, there are "polite" sayings too, something for everyone.
Downward Dog is colored with Prisma colored pencils and shadowed with blue decorative chalk.  The green and orange inks are Brilliance Inks and the three little dots are Nuvo Drops.
Have a creative day!

Birthday Birds

Today I'm up on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog with this Branch with 2 Birds silhouette stamp.  It's stamped with Onyx Black VersaMark Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder on some decorative paper I got at Hobby Lobby.  The stamped paper came with this pattern, but the larger panel from the same sheet didn't have much of a pattern on it, so I created one with the Watercolor Splatter Set.

The scalloped circle was die cut using the Nested Circle Scallop w/ Holes Die Set and kraft colored paper, it really does make a pretty layer.  Cream cardstock was die cut with the Nested Rectangle Stitch Die Cut Set to add another layer.  The Happy Birthday was stamped on cream cardstock to tie it in with the cream panel.
Now have a creative day!

Dorky Dragon

Hi my friends, today I have a card for you that puts a smile on my face, it's made with the May release Dorky Dragon, isn't he the cutest?!  He's stamped on a white panel, colored with Prisma colored pencils and the blue background was sponged with blue decorative chalk.  You can't tell from the picture but I added some Star Dust Stickles to his teeth hehe!

He's layered against decorative paper from the Pretty Pastels 6 x 6 Paper Pack.  Then "friend" was die-cut from the Friend Word and Shadow Die Set from white cardstock, rubbed with VersaMark Ink and embossed with embossing powder and layered on a black die-cut piece for a shadow.  To finish it off I added the sun and cloud from the Up in the Clouds Die Set.

Thank a Veteran

Have you seen the wonderful new line of patriotic stamps and die-cuts from Whimsy Stamps?  Any time of year is the right time to thank the men and women of our military for all that they do for us!!

For my background, I used Military Camo Background isn't it great?!  I inked it with two different shades of green on a light green panel, it would also look really good in different shades of brown on a tan panel.  The flag from the Military Heros Clear Stamp Set is a two-part stamp for easy stamping.

Here's another card I recently shared using the same set, just in case you missed it here it is again and you can see the Blog post HERE

Amazing Friend

Here's a card I made for my Stamp Club, we all had to use this sketch for our card exchange.
I used the Flower Puffs Background from Whimsy Stamps, it's so beautiful it doesn't even need to be colored, and the sentiment is from Polka Dot Fun Clear Set.

I die-cut decorative paper using the heart die from the super cute Coffee Cup Die Set.
Then some pretty green sparkly washi tape was used behind the Flower Puffs Background, just a little bit is peeking out.

Sea You Soon!

Today I'm up on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog with a shaker card made with the Sea Set and coordinating Sea Die Cut Set.   To start with a white panel was randomly stamped with one of the stamps from the Watercolor Background Set that I thought looked like water.
The Nested Deckle Rectangle Die Set was used to cut out the stamped panel and to cut out a frame out of two papers.  One was glued flat to the panel to be used as a guide for the foam tape.
The colored and cut image was glued inside of the frame.

Acetate was glued to the frame and a clean dryer sheet was rubbed on the inside part of the acetate to help prevent the shaker bits from sticking to the acetate.

Have a creative day!

Best -Kept Secret
I need to share with you the best-kept secret when it comes to die cutting machines.  I already had three die cutting machines when Rubbernecker Stamps started carrying the Crossover II and my friend Cristena told me how amazing it was.  So being the crafter that I am I just had to give it a try and oh my gosh it's AMAZING!! Here's why, when you open it up there are two wheels to adjust the tension, you can make it tighter or looser so you don't need a bunch of different plates or shims.  If you have an intricate die, just roll the wheel to tighten the tension, have an embossing folder, loosen the tension so it fits, the thick old dies no problem... AMAZING.  To see it in action click HERE for a YouTube video.
