Say It Elegantly

Hi my friends, today I have an elegant Congratulations card that uses a little bit of everything such as stamps, dies, stencils, embossing paste and embossing powder.  But don't let all of those things scare you because this really is an easy card to make.

Here's how my card was made;
  • Die-cut white cardstock using the Nested Rectangle Small Stitch Die Cut.
  • Place the Brick Wall Stencil on top of the die-cut panel and paste emboss using gold glitter embossing paste.  Set aside to dry.
  • Die-cut a circle frame using the Nested Circle Die Cut Set and pop up on the brick panel once it's dry.
  • Use the Flower #5 Die-Cut to cut leaves from silver glitter paper and pop up over the circle frame.
  • Stamp Congratulations on a strip of black cardstock with VersaMark Ink and emboss with silver embossing powder and pop up over the circle frame.
  • Layer onto a slightly larger silver panel and pop up on a white card.

Have a creative day!

Gazebo- Whimsy Stamps

Hi my friends, look at this beautiful detailed Gazebo from Whimsy Stamps, I think this really says Spring.  I went with soft muted colors, it was stamped with black and embossed with brown embossing powder.

The roof was colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and the rest was colored with decorative chalks using a brush to apply the color.  When done you don't need to apply a fixative, it surprisingly doesn't rub off!  For the background, I die cut clouds and a seagull from the Up in the Clouds Die Set.

Going Shabby Chic

For today's I Brake For Stamps post, I'm going with a shabby chic style card.  I have a Prima pad of paper and thought it would be perfect for this style of flower stamp, from the Fruit and Flowers Sheet set. Here's how my card was made;

1.  The flower was stamped with Worn Lipstick Distress ink, the edges were sponged with Tea Dye and Worn Lipstick.
2.  The word flowers was randomly stamped with Tea Dye ink, stamping twice before reinking.
3.  The bottom was die cut using a Spellbinders die and pink pearls were placed in the centers.
4.  This was layered onto brown cardstock and tied with pale pink ribbon.
5.  Then it was layered onto pink cardstock and glued onto a dark brown card.

If you order anything from the I Brake For Stamps website, be sure to use my coupon code SAVE10JAMIE to get 10% off your order.

You're The Best!

There have been quite a few Swirls and Flourishes in the last couple of Stampendous catalogs and this week we are going to show you what we have done with them! Go to the Stampendous Blog (link at the bottom) to see what other designers are sharing today.

1.  Stamp Medalion Circle on a white panel with black ink.
2.  Rub Worn Lipstick and Wild Honey Distress inks on your craft mat, spritz with water and lay stamped paper face down.  Rub the back and lift, set aside to dry.
3.  Layer onto black paper, apply pearls, tie with cream ribbon and stamp sentiment from the Happy Greetings Perfectly Clear Set with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
4.  Glue to a light pink card using Zip Dry by Beacon Adhesives.

Vintage Holly Bird

Right now I'm really into kraft, tan and brown colors paired up with other colors.  Today I paired kraft and tan with burgundy and gold to make an elegant Christmas card.  Stampendous has a great new stamp set Hollly Bird Perfectly Clear Stamps that has the bird and sentiment used plus other pretty stamps.

The image was stamped and embossed with gold then watercolored.  The edges were torn, rubbed with Versamark ink and embosses with Jeweled Gold embossing powder that is beautiful and glittery in person.  Dot Sparklers were added to the crown and on the holly berries.  The paper on the bottom is decorative paper that I've had for a while, I'm a paper collector and  hoarder so I'm trying to use it up to make room for new!!!

Be sure to stop by next week for a Blog Hop, Stampendous is joining with Colorbox to bring you wonderful cards and crafts!

Pretty Pointsettias

(Yes I know Poinsettia is spelled wrong in my title but I can't change it or it will mess up my link...sorry guys)

These big Poinsettias by Stampendous are perfect to fill a card.  The music was stamped first then the Poinsettias were embossed with gold and watercolored with Adirondack Inks which is a dye ink and it worked out perfectly.  I was afraid the music would smear since it's also a dye ink but it didn't, yay!  Glitter was added to the center for just a touch of bling.

Stampendous is sold out of this popular stamp but if you would like to get it, it is available at Stamplistic.

This Poinsettia was colored with watercolor pencils with a very similar effect.  Since the image is embossed I took the color off the pencil with a wet brush rather and coloring directly on the paper since I didn't want the embossing to chip off.

Hello

I got a new butterfly set yesterday and had to get it inky today.  Unfortunately the picture doesn't do it justice, it's so much prettier in person.  I'm taking pictures in all of my rooms trying to get good lighting but can't find quite the right spot.

The butterfly by Stampendous was inked with Versamark and embossed with a sparkling Cranberry.  It was painted with Twinkling H2O's, the edges were sponged with Crimson Brilliance and layered onto sparkling plum paper.
Gold stickers by Stampendous were applied to the top right corner and gold ribbon was wrapped around the bottom left.
An embossing folder was used on blush paper and sponged with Crimson Brilliance.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Love

This Valentine's card was made using the glitter and lace techique that I love so much.  The heart was cut out of sticker paper using a Sizzix die.  The  back paper was removed from the sticker paper and lace was placed over the sticky side.  Red glitter was then poured on the lace, rubbed in, shaken off and the lace was removed.  irredescent glitter was then sprinkled on the heart, rubbed and shaken off.

Love was stamped on a white strip with Versamark ink and embossed with black glitter embossing powder and glue was placed in the heart and sprinkled with glitter. This was then layered on black paper, glued to the heart.

A black panel was stamped with a swirl stamp in two corner, dusted with Pearl Ex and the heart was glued on and it was mounted to a white card.  Corner mount stickers were placed in two corners and a  key hole sticker was placed diagonally to the corner.  A key sticker was placed on acetate, cut out and attached to the "love" strip.

Best Wishes

I love making cards that have gold on them, either paper and/or embossing, I think they look so elegant.
1. Cut the ovals out using a Coluzzle, stamp the flower with Versamark ink and emboss with champagne embossing powder.
2. The background is stamped with a script with latte Adirondack ink, then the edges were stippled with mushroom ink.
3. Using a SU punch, punch the oblong strip out of lavender paper and apply stickers.
4. Tie different colored ribbons to the top and assemble!
