Thanksgiving Treat

These cute little mice are really making me want some pumpkin pie.  The image Pumpkin Pie was colored with Prisma pencils and blue chalk was used to shade around the image. It was then die cut, layered onto a larger die cut piece, hardware was added to the top and bottom, then the piece was glued to a Mandarin colored card.

Look Into My Eyes

Today I'm sharing a stamped image that I put into a Deflecto frame, so it can be displayed this fall.  I stamped Look Into My Eyes and colored with watercolor pencils and added extra shading with Prisma pencils once it was dry.  I chalked around the image with blue chalk using a wide flat brush (my favorite way to shade around an image).  It was then layered onto a brown panel, Leaffless Tree Die Cut then onto Mandarin card stock before sliding it into the frame.

Stampendous and Tando Blog Hop

Welcome to the last day of the Stampendous and Tando Creative Blog Hop!  All week the designers from both companies have been using products from both companies to make some beautiful pieces. I hope you have been hopping along with us and commenting on the blogs because if you do, you are eligible to win one of 3 prizes!

To be eligible, leave a comment and where you live my blog, Tando Creative blog and the Stampendous blog. Each comment is an entry to win one of THREE terrific prize packages. This is open to commenters with a US and UK mailing addresses.  I will post the winners on my Stamp This facebook page next week, "like" it to be sure to see the winners.

I don't do much mixed media, but I have to say I love the way this turned out.  To make the flower I used the Blossom Duo Stencil Set, traced it on watercolor paper and colored with watercolor pencils.  Then I went over it with a wet brush, while the stencil was still on.
The background was randomly stamped with Vintage Contract in Tea Dye ink and it was splattered with the ink as well.

The frame is from the Arches Straight Edge Large by Tando Creative.  It was painted with DecoArt Media Fluid Acryilics in Quinacridone Gold.  The edges were rubbed with DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Champagne Ice and Gold Rush.
The frame was randomly stamped with Elegant Borders Perfectly Clear Set using VersaMark ink and embossing with Vintage Ivory Embossing Enamel.

To finish it off Special Friends was stamped on aceteate with Claret, Staz On ink.  The saying was cut apart and attached to the image.  The frame and image were glued together and a lock and key were glued to the frame.

Stampendous Is Playing With Tando

Look who  Stampendous is hopping with this week, Tando Creative!  They are a great company based in the UK that sells these great “chippies” and quite a few Stampendous Essential Kits and mixed media stamps by Andy Skinner and Nathalie Kalbach.

We have prizes!

Now here is my project

I used Whisper Friends Perfectly Clear Set and Mushrooms Perfectly Clear Set and it's colored with Zig Clean Color pens.  The frame is from the Tando Creative Theatre Stage set. I only used one layer to frame my project but the set comes with multiple layers to for a shadowbox type stage. A VersaMark pad was applied directly to the frame, all over, then Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel was sprinkled over the frame and heat embossed.

Dear Santa

What is better on a super hot day than making a Christmas Card!  Unfortunately no matter how long I look at the new Patient Pup, from the new Stampendous July catalog, I don't get any cooler. But isn't this image just adorable!!  Now is a good time to start thinking about designing your Christmas cards because you know, it sneaks up on us EVERY year, or at least it does me.

Here is how my card was made;
1.  Stamp Patient Pup on Mixed Media White Paper with black ink, heat set and color with Prisma pencils and a blender pencil.
2.  I used a Zig 2 Way glue marker on the fur of the had and sprinkled with Crystal Micro Glitter.
3.  To shadow around the image, blue chalk was applied with a flat brush. Set a side.
4.  A white panel was stamped with Santa Words repeatedly to fill the panel and dog paws were stamped randomly in red.
5.  Layer pieces as shown onto red paper.
6.  Stamp only the word "Dear Santa" from the Santa Words stamp on white paper with black ink, cut out and line around the edges with a black pen.  Glue words to the upper left corner.
