Life is Better at the Beach

I have this card up on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog, it's using the new Every Summer Set for a clean and simple design.

  • Stamp images from the Every Summer Set onto watercolor paper with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and emboss with clear embossing powder.
  • Watercolor the images using Inktense Pencils, cut out and set aside.

  • Glue strips of Printworks Specialty Paper diagonally on a white cardstock panel.
  • Die-cut the panel using the Nested Rectangle Stitch Die Set.

  • Die-cut the center of this panel using the Nested Oval Die Set.

  • Pop the panel up on a larger white cardstock panel using foam squares then glue to an orange card.

  • Ink the sentiment with Bubblegum and Apricot Color Fuse Inks on a strip of white cardstock and glue it to the top of the colored strips.
  • Pop up the octopus also using foam squares and glue the starfish down below the oval.

New Release-Rubbernecker Stamps

Today is New Release Day for Rubbernecker Stamps and I have a mini slimline card made with the new Distressed Background Strips and the Composable Freehand Borders Set.

To make my card, the flower and leaves from the Poetic Peonies Set were stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and die-cut with coordinating dies.
Die-cut "Friend" using the Friend Script w/ Shadow Die from black cardstock.

Stamp gray cardstock with VersaMark Ink and emboss with White Embossing Powder, then die-cut the stamped image with the Mini Slimline Nested w/ Stitch Die.

Use the Mini Slimline Scallop Holes Die to die-cut white cardstock.

Use a tape runner to attach the Mini Slimline Scallop Holes onto slightly larger pink cardstock.
Stamp the link and the sentiment from the Composable Freehand Borders Set with Onyx Black VersaFine Ink and pop up the embossed piece in between them.

Use a tape runner to attach the leaves to the left side of the card and pop up the flower with foam squares.
Place 3D Foam Squares Micro Black on the back half of "Friend" and place as shown.

Under the Sea

Today's card uses the new release Under the Sea Set #2 from Rubbernecker Stamps to make this fun summer card.  Be sure to read on to see how the waves were made!

Here's how my card was made-
  • Die-cut blue cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" with the Waves Die Cut about 1/3 from the top.
  • Use the top portion that was cut off like a stencil and leaving the top of the wave panel un-inked, start applying blue inks from the Color Fuse Inks #8 Set starting with the lightest color and move the "stencil" down each time you go darker.

  • Glue the waves to a white cardstock panel 4" x 5 1/4" using the Dual Tip Glue Pen from Home and Hobby by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Under the Sea #2 with Onyx Black Ink and emboss with clear embossing powder from Stampendous.

  • Glue this to a light blue card using the same adhesive.
  • Stamp the fish from the Under the Sea #2 Set with black ink on watercolor paper and emboss with clear embossing powder.
  • Watercolor the fish and cut them out.
  • Pop up the fish with 3D Foam Adhesive Squares as shown.
  • Glue on blue and clear Dew Drops for the bubbles above the fish.
  • Add a seashell sequin near the sentiment.

  • The cones were popped up on a strip of decorative paper using 3D Foam Circles Mixed White.
  • This was then layered onto a white panel that was dry embossed using the Vertical Lines Stencil from Rubbernecker Stamps.  Then it was mounted to a green card using E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser.
  • Sweet from the Build a Phrase #1 Set was stamped on a strip of white cardstock and a piece of ribbon was stapled onto the left side and it was popped up on the card.
  • Wishes, was die-cut from black cardstock and adhered to the bottom of the card.

Time For Drinks

Here's a cool and refreshing card for a hot summer day made with the new Fruity Drinks Perfectly Clear Set from Stampendous.  This is such a fun set to use and it comes with a bunch of cute stamps.

To make the card, I stamped the glasses, fruit, and umbrella on watercolor paper with Onyx Black VersaFine Ink and colored them with Derwent Inktense pencils to give them a vibrant look.  To make the background, I die-cut a  circle in the center of a panel of cardstock and laid it over the same size white cardstock panel and blended yellow, green, and blue inks.  Then stamped over the colors with the same color of ink.

Look at all that comes in the set, super cute right?!

Let's Get Together

Hi everyone, I don't know about you but I would love to get this from a friend after a long week, to welcome the weekend!  All stamps and die-cuts are from Rubbernecker Stamps, I used the Watercolor Margarita Glass, Best Wishes Etc Clear Stamp SetWatercolor Splatter Set and the Nested Circle Scallop w/ Holes Die Cut , all layered on coordinating papers.

For a little extra something, I added sequins, some ribbon attaching it to the sentiment with a brad.  The margarita glass is popped up using 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

I hope you all have a good weekend and remember if you drink, don't drive :)

Smile!

Hi everyone, I'm up on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog this week.  I made this card by using the direct to paper technique, have you tried it?  It's a quick and easy way to get beautiful results.  Here's what I did;
1.  Randomly stamp the leaf from the Organic Set #2 on watercolor paper with VersaMark Ink and emboss with white embossing powder.
2.  Rub Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn on the watercolor paper in random spots starting with the lightest color first.
3. Spritz with water so the colors move around and set aside to dry.

4.  Once dry die-cut the center using one of the Nested Deckle Rectangle Dies and layer onto a larger black panel.
5.  Glue the outer piece to a white card and pop up the die-cut piece after tieing it with black and white cord.

6.  Die-Cut the Smile #2 Die Cut with both white and black papers.  Glue the black die-cut piece underneath the white and a little offset.  Glue to a strip of black paper and pop up on the card.
7.  Randomly apply rhinestones and you're done!

Have a creative day!

Colorful Birthday

I have another Birthday card to share using  R313 Party Background and SSC1318 Birthday Fun  stamps from Stampendous.  It was made using the "direct to paper" technique, the same
technique used to make a birthday card earlier this week but I used different colors and layout, you can see it HERE.
The Party Background was stamped on watercolor paper with VeraMark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet were rubbed directly on top of the embossed panel, spritzed with water and left to dry.  Once dry it was turned into a card!

Now have a creative day!

Happy Birthday- Stampendous

How's your stack of Birthday cards looking, need to add a few to it?  Stampendous has a really pretty Party Background stamp that I used for my card that was really easy to make.  I used the direct to paper technique with Wild Honey and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks but use you creativity and try different color combinations.

Here's how my card was made-

1.  Stamp Party Background on watercolor paper with VersaMark Ink and emboss with White Embossing Powder.
2.  Rub pink and yellow inks directly over the embossed area, spritz with water and let dry.
3. Layer onto black paper, and glue diagonally onto white and black papers then glue onto a pink card.  Stamp Happy Birthday onto the white paper with black ink and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
4.  Randomly add small rhinestones onto the watercolored piece.

Mountain Serenity

It's May 1st and do you know what that means?!  It's Whimsy Stamps new release for the month!  My card uses the Mountain Serenity Rubber Stamp, it's stamped in black and embossed with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper.    Since the stamp is so intricate, I used hot press watercolor paper because it's smoother than cold press and I didn't want to lose any of the details.    It was then colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

For the background, the Farmhouse Shiplap was stamped using Sepia VersaFine Ink on tan paper then the edges were sponged.  Thanks from the Thanks Word and Shadow Die Set was used with tan paper.

Have a creative day!
