I'm Back!

Wow it's been a long time since I've blogged! I have been busy, busy, busy. I am in charge of the Girl Scout cookie sale for our troop and we have 15 booth sales scheduled for March, just became the snack bar coordinator for the swim team, and had a stamp class last week. I think the worst is behind me and now I can blow the dust off of my stamps and get to work.
This card was made for my class last week. The store Stamp Fever in the city of Orange in Southern California had an over stock of the leaf and flower stamps so I made this to help them sell.
The flower is stamped with caramel and the leaves with lettuce. The sentiment is stamped in black. The edges are sponged with butterscotch and caramel inks, layered onto black paper, tied with a green ribbon and glitter glue was applied to the center of the flowers. This was layered onto a golden rod panel that was stamped with the leaves in caramel and the edges are sponged with butterscotch and caramel and mounted to a black card. Peace is stamped on a square in black and the edges are sponged with the same inks as above. This is popped up with foam squares. Circle stickers are added to the corners.

Crimped Birthday

This is a crimped envelope which is yesterdays TLC210 challenge over at SCS and the colors pink green and brown are from today's CC208 color challenge. The envelope was stippled with pink and brown inks, stamped the the flower in brown and glitter glue is in the center of the flowers. I wasn't intending to place the happy birthday on brown paper but I forgot to stamp it in brown on the envelope before I crimped it, so when I stamped it, it wasn't a good stamping. The butterfly was punched with green and pink papers and pearls are in the center. The dots on the green scallop were made using a white gel pen.
Below is the card that fits inside.

Inks- pink, mushroom Adirondack, VersaMark
Plus- butterfly punch by Martha Stewart, scallop punch by SU, pearls, circle stickers by Stampendous, white embossing powder, ribbon, A2 envelope

Challenges Galor!

Today I knocked out three challenges with this one card! So the SCS challenges are SC217 a sketch challenge, CC207 a color challenge and WT207 a frugal finds challenge. The colors used are mustard, orange and olive. The flowers were stamped using all three colors onto white squares, thanks is stamped on the mustard piece in black, then VersaMark was "patted" (don't rub or the ink will smear) on top and embossed with a clear glitter powder. The orange paper is sponged with orange and then stamped with the flower stamp after it has been stamped once on scratch paper. Do the same with the mustard panel and mustard ink.

Stamps- flowers by Great Impressions, "thanks" by MSE
Ink- Adirondack butterscotch, lettuce and orange (I think it now has a new name), VersaFine black, VersaMark
Plus- Kaleidoscope embossing powder by Stampendous, flower punches, small black brad

Tomorrow I'll be picking up our troops Girl Scout cookies and I will have about 250 cases of cookies in my family room, luckily the girls will be unloading the cars. I'll try to remember to take a picture of all of those cases. We have 15 cookie booths scheduled in March, I better start stocking up on magazines so I'll have something to do at all of those booths!
Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend :)

Congrats

Here is a card I made just because, no reason just playing around. I love this color combo and have been wanting to make a card using it. I got the great tan paper a while ago and haven't really used it to much but now watch out, I love it!
Stamps- background by Great Impressions, word and oval by MSE (My Sentiments Exactly)
Ink- white Brilliance, latte and denim Adirondack, VersaMark
Plus- chocolate embossing powder by Stampendous, circle stickers by Stampendous, glitter glue, satin ribbon, scallop scissors

On Sunday my daughter and I went whale watching with our Girl Scout troop. It was only the girls who are working on their Gold Award (it's like the Boy Scout Eagle Award). The weather was great and luckily it didn't rain so we were able to go out to whale watching, go on the tide pool walk and pick up trash on the beach. Boy did we put a lot into our day, we left at 6:30 am and got home at 6:00 pm. Everyone had a great time.

The picture below is of a World War II fighter ship. The captain of our boat told us to take a picture because we will probably never see another that is sailing, so I did.
Here Melanie and I are while on the tide pool walk.

Isn't this a beautiful picture of the lighthouse! I didn't know it looked so good until I got it on the computer. This was take while sailing out to the ocean.

Fall Bookmark

Here is a quick and easy fall bookmark for today. Fall colors are so pretty, they are some of my favorite color combinations. For this I used Adirondack inks in lettuce, plum and butterscotch and stamped the flower from Great Impressions on cream paper. The edges are sponged with butterscotch and the words from Hero Arts are stamped in black. Glue the cream tag to clay, punch your hole and add matching ribbon. For the final touch apply glitter glue to the center of the flowers and you are done. Oh so easy!
Thanks for stopping by today :)

Time To Break Out The Glossy Paper!

In my stamp room I have tons of glossy paper and decided it was time to use some of it! This is one of the things I just forget to use but the results are beautiful. To make this card yellow ink was lightly brayered over the paper, then a circle punch was used to make a mask out of a post it note and it was placed at the top right of the glossy paper. Yellow ink was then brayered again. Then rust Adirondack ink was sponged starting at the bottom going about a quarter of the way up. Butterscotch Adirondack ink is then sponged to blend the rust into the yellow to give a gradual change of color. The leaves by Great Impressions are stamped twice in the left corner and the words from MSE are then stamped, the ink used is black StazOn. For accents silver square stickers from Stampendous are used.

Now it's time for me to get ready for lunch with Mom, today we are going to Mimi's Cafe yum yum, one of my favorites! Then tonight is back to school night for Melanie (10th grade), I can't wait to meet her teachers and to see her classes. That must be a goofy Mom thing.
Have a great week and weekend.

Another Christmas Card

As promised, here is another Christmas card. This one is a little more time consuming than the others but I have a few friends that love snowmen. This card was made using just two stamps! The snowmen and sentiment are one stamp that I stamped with blue pigment ink and embossed with a clear glitter embossing powder. It was then painted with Radiant Pearls, cut apart and layered onto dark blue and confetti papers. The card was stamped with snowflakes using stonewashed Adirondack ink, then the edge was torn, sponged with stonewashed the dark blue paper was glued to the inside top panel. After that ribbon was added and the pieces were glued on. For the final touch snowflake stickers were added to the dark blue panel and a circle sticker was put in the center of the two layered snowflakes.
Today it is 104 degrees here is sunny Southern California, I wanted to wash the dogs and my car but it is way to hot! Hope you are staying cool where you are!

My Man

This is a quick and easy card to make, my favorite kind! It is called a two way fold card and the dimensions can be found here. I used papers by Bo Bunny, they are patterned on both sides. The word stamp is by Great Impressions and the alphabet stickers are by Stampendous.

Here is how it looks after you untie the card.

And this is with the card lifted up. I have left it blank so I can write something sweet to my husband :)
Thanks for visiting!

Criss-Cross Box

Mother's Day and my daughter's birthday party are quickly approaching and I needed a cute little treat box. I was happy to find a template and tutorial for this criss-cross box at Nicole Heady's blog. It was super easy and if you're in a hurry and don't have time to stamp, you can even use a sturdy sheet of decorative paper to make the box!

Ink- wisteria ColorBox chalk ink, citrus Adirondack
Plus- glitter glue, SU tag punches, 1" circle punch, cello bag, green and purple ribbon

Twinkling H2O's

I hope all of my blogging friends had a nice Easter! It was so early this year that it just snuck up on me, but we had a nice time with family over at our house to celebrate. Now for the card :)
Twinkling H2O's are a lot of fun to use and give beautiful shimmering results. I stamped the frame with VersaMark ink on watercolor paper and embossed it with white. Using pink and orange H2O's, I painted the colors diagonally having them blend in the middle. It was then cut out and layered onto black paper. White paper was run through the CuddleBug using the swirl folder, when done pastel pink ink was lightly sponged on. This was layered onto black paper and glued to a pink card that was stamped with flowers using pastel pink ink. The bottom of the card was cut with cloud scissors and holes were punched with a micro punch. A black strip of paper was glued to the inside bottom of the card.

My Last Valentine's Day Card, I Promise

Okay, this is it, my last Valentine's Day card! I thought I would make an elegant card, I love using gold embossing powder and layering with gold paper. I stamped the image which is by Stampendous, with VersaMark ink and embossed with champagne embossing powder. The image is painted with Twinkling H2O's (and I just ordered the new set of twelve while at CHA), so the image is really shimmering but the scan doesn't show it. Then layered it onto plum and gold papers. The cream card is stamped with hearts by Great Impressions in a light pink, I can't remember the name and I don't want to run down stairs to check, yes I'm lazy, it's late. After glueing on a plum panel, I inked just one little heart from the Great Impressions stamp with VersaMark, stamped and embossed, then added a heart sticker. Added some beautiful green satin ribbon and I'm done!
Thank you to everyone for the well wishes on getting over my cold, I'm all better now but my hubby is really sick, he came home early from work and will be home tomorrow. He so rarely gets sick, that having this cold is killing him. So it looks like another week before my house is germ free :(

Love Is In The Air

Here is a card I made for a sketch challenge that was posted over at Poetic Artistry called Mojo21, I saw the sketch and love it! I used Fluffles for the main image, embossed it and colored it with Twinkling H2O's, you can't see the shimmer in the scan but it's there. The little hearts on the black strip are stickers that are glittery so the whole card sparkles. The background stamp is by Great Impressions and I added glitter around the hearts, so the whole card sparkles :)
For my new blogging friends, if you would like to leave a comment, click on the word comment do not click on the envelope.
