To Brighten Your Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.  Last night I got a new embossing folder so I just had to play with it!  This card is for Splitcoaststampers challenges F4A155 and SC423.
The embossing folder was used on tan paper and Sepia Versafine ink was sponged over it.
Three rows of Ah That's Great Tape were place on a strip of dark brown paper.  The tape was rubbed back and forth with my finger to create a spiderweb affect.  Apricot and Willow mica chips and brown Shattered Glass Glitter were sprinkled on the tape.  Blue and Copper Pearl Ex were brushed on.
The rose by Stampendous was stamped using Versafine on tan paper and embossed with blue and gold embossing powders then the edges were sponged with Sepia ink and layered onto light blue and dark brown papers. The sentiment by Stampendous was stamped on light blue paper  with Sepia Versafine and layered onto dark brown paper.

Look what got delivered today!!!!  I have the best hubby, even after 25 years I get flowers on Valentine's Day :)  I love you Paul!

Clean and Simple

Last week over at SCS on of the challenges was to make a clean and simple card (CAS). I loved this challenge and you don't realize how hard it is to make a CAS when you are used to layering, coloring and added embellishments. To make these cards I inked up the raised side of a CuttleBug folder with lettuce and currant Adirondack and brown VersaFine then ran it through the machine and you have this beautiful background. The tags are CuttleBug dies that were sponged with ink and stamped with words from the "Encouraging Words" set from Stampendous.

This was made using currant Adirondack ink and Stampendous stamps and circle stickers.
Below are closer up pictures of the CuttleBug cards.

As I post this I'm waiting for my refrigerator to be delivered. Saturday morning at about 5:30 a.m., we thought there was a fire downstairs. The kitchen filled with smoke and it smelled terrible like wires burning. We thought something was burning in the walls but couldn't find anything. Several hours later we discovered the refrigerator wasn't working so the motor must of burned up. On one hand I'm glad we don't have a problem in our walls, on the other wow are refrigerators expensive! Hopefully this will last at least 10 years, the one I currently have only lasted about 7 or 8 years.

Are You Ready For Spring?

I'm ready for spring, I haven't been able to warm up my hands all day. This spring card is for todays SCS color challenge CC203, the colors we had to use are Garden Green, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point. Well I don't have any of these SU papers but these are pretty darn close. I used my new spring stamp from Stampendous. It is stamped with VersaMark ink and painted with Twinkling H2O's, I love the way you can blend them when used on water color paper.
Sorry about having to scan the card, Melanie took my camera to school today and I wanted to get this posted on the day of the challenge. I'll take a picture of the card tomorrow and replace it, photos look soooo much better.

Now here are two more pictures from CHA of the My Favorite Things booth. Unfortunately you can't see the cards very well, they really are stunning.

Here is a close up of one of the panels, they really are wonderful IRL. Well I'm off to make some hot tea so I can warm my hands while holding the cup. ~~Be sure to take a look at my "Top Commenter's" on the left side of my blog, this is automatically generated and will change depending how often people leave comments. Check out their blogs, they have wonderful cards.~~

Have a great day!

Love To You

I now have more Valentine's Day cards than I need but this was made for a sketch challenge over at Paper Craft Planet and it called for a big heart. The stamp set is "Light Heart Set" by Stampendous. It is stamped with VersaMark ink on light green paper and embossed with amethyst powder. The heart is stamped again on decorative paper which is then cut out and glued onto the center of the heart with "Love To You" stamped and embossed. The purple paper was embossed with the CuttleBug folder "Diamonds in the Rough" to match the diamond pattern of the heart.

So Sunday I went to CHA, it was sooooo fun! I took my camera planning on taking a lot of pictures but there was so much to look at and do, the camera wasn't taken out of my purse much. I did get these great pictures of my friends at Stampendous. Pam is on the left, she makes the cutest stuff and Fran the owner on the right. They had a cute pajama and slipper theme to match some new stamps.

I was able to sneak Pam away for a quick lunch, it was nice to finally see her. For those of you who read my blog, she's the one I was supposed to meet for a day of shopping and lunch around Christmas time, but she got snowed in, something that doesn't happen often here in Southern California.

And look what was on their feet, don't they look comfy! Really I don't know how comfortable they would be after several hours.

I'll post a couple more pictures next time. Have a wonderful week :)

Oops I Did It Again...

Oops I did it again, I made another Christmas card! This was made for SCS Limited Supply Challenge LSC199 "Holiday Blues". The card has to be 3/4 blue and you can only use one none paper embellishment and it had to be a holiday card. The blue paper I used is a steel blue that almost looks gray. For the background I inked up one side of a CuttleBug folder with iced blue ColorBox Chalk ink and embossed using cream paper. The snowflakes and saying which are by Stampendous are inked with denim Adirondack ink.
Have a fun weekend!

Baby Shower Time!

Today Melanie and I are going to a baby shower so I whipped this card up this morning. I don't have too many baby stamps so this is what I came up with. These little feet are soooo cute! Wish I had little hands to go with it. Now off to church, then the shower.
Have a great week :)
Recipe
Stamps- sentiment by Stampendous, I don't know where the feet are from
Inks- stonewashed Adirondack, blue VersaFine
Plus- CuttleBug folder, circle stickers, SU corner punch, ribbon

Happy Monday!

To start off this week I was able to do the Monday Mojo challenge again. I have a new pack of decorative paper that I've had for a while and finally decided it was time to use it. This card was super easy to make since it only has one stamp. The swirl Cuttlebug folder was used to emboss the cream panel then mauve pigment ink was sponged over it. The Happy Birthday stamp is by Stampendous as are the circle stickers. Stream Adirondack ink was used for the sentiment, then the edges were sponged with mauve.

Now on to the weekend. We went to the USC vs Washington football game and it was our homecoming, my husband and I are both alumnus. It was so much fun and the kids had a great time too. Everyone but me won a USC shirt but I did win a luggage name tag, woo hoo!. Here we are Melanie, me and Greg in front of Tommy Trojan.

Here I am with my handsome hubby Paul. These pictures were taken before it started to rain, last year when we went it also rained. It hardly ever rains here and now its rained on us two years in a row but this time it didn't last long thank goodness!

Now here is a picture of my new tile, we are very pleased with how it turned out. I find it very hard to envision how home improvements will look when done. Now next week I will have to seal the grout, I'm not looking forward to that it will take forever.

Have a great week and thank you for stopping by :)

Sketch Challenge

This was made for SplitCoasts Wednesday sketch challenge. I'm always in need of birthday cards so here is another one. I don't know if your husband is like this but mine will tell me in the morning before he gets into the shower that he needs a birthday card for someone at work TODAY, and can I make one before he leaves. Okay I'm good but not THAT good! Especially in the morning, not a morning person.
I made the card around the decorative paper (that I love). The top of the card is Cuttlebuged with a folder to go along with the stripes. Everything was stamped with blue VersaFine and heat set before coloring with pencils, a blender pencil was used to blend the colors. Glitter glue was then added to the images in the circles.
Recipe
Stamps-Hero Arts (word stamps), Stampendous (images)
Ink- blue VersaFine
Plus- Cuttlebug, ribbon glitter glue, green sticker circles (Stampendous)

I'm so excited, I'm having tile installed in my kitchen and master bathroom, it should be done today. When we moved in we got the linoleum that came with the house since the builder was so expensive. Since our dogs sleep inside, their bed just happened to be on the seam, it started to get loose and the dogs thought it would be quite entertaining to pull it up and eat it. Luckily nothing got stuck inside of them, you'd be amazed at the things they have swallowed. Well five years later we got tile! When it is done I'll post a picture.

A Fluffles Birthday

This card was made for the Mojo Monday challenge over at Poetic Artistry, she always has such cute sketch challenges. Fluffles was stamped in black and water colored, then glitter was added for pizazz. A Cuttlebug folder was used at the bottom of the card to match the polka dots on the gift box.
Recipe
Stamps- Stampendous and Hero Arts
Ink- Black and blue VersaFine, lettuce Adirondack
Plus- watercolor pencils, glitter glue, Cuttlebug folder, ribbon, Dimensional Magic

Sunday night my husband and I voted by absentee ballot, here he is reading up on some of the propositions. Voting is very time consuming but well worth it! If you're in the U.S. be sure to get out and vote to let your opinion be known.

Twinkling H2O's

I hope all of my blogging friends had a nice Easter! It was so early this year that it just snuck up on me, but we had a nice time with family over at our house to celebrate. Now for the card :)
Twinkling H2O's are a lot of fun to use and give beautiful shimmering results. I stamped the frame with VersaMark ink on watercolor paper and embossed it with white. Using pink and orange H2O's, I painted the colors diagonally having them blend in the middle. It was then cut out and layered onto black paper. White paper was run through the CuddleBug using the swirl folder, when done pastel pink ink was lightly sponged on. This was layered onto black paper and glued to a pink card that was stamped with flowers using pastel pink ink. The bottom of the card was cut with cloud scissors and holes were punched with a micro punch. A black strip of paper was glued to the inside bottom of the card.
