Hello

I have a quick post today of a carnation friendship card.  It's made using the pretty Carnation Blooms from Stampendous!. Be sure to look at the Shabby Pink Embossing Powder used around the carnation, I just LOVE the Shabby line of Embossing Powders that Stamendous has!!
I'm entering this in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge 544-Just For Girls.

Here's how it was made-
  1. Stamp Carnation Blooms on white cardstock with black ink and color with watercolor pencils, then shade with Prisma colored pencils.
  2. Diecut image using Fitted Frames and sprinkle around the carnation with Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel and heat from underneath so the powder doesn't blow off.
  3. Layer image onto a larger frame of Bo Bunny paper using the same diecut set and glue to a pink card.
  4. Use the Spring Boarders Die Set to cut pink strip and thread with the same Bo Bunny paper as the frame.  Glue over the bottom of the image.
  5. Use same die set to cut a strip for the top of the card.
  6. Stamp hello on a small tag with black ink and emboss with clear.  Tie with twine and pop up on card.

Beautiful Butterflies

I'm up on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog today with a card made using the Butterflies 2 stamp set.  To make it, butterflies were randomly stamped diagonally on watercolor paper with VersaMark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron were rubbed directly on the embossed area then spritzed with water.  Low tack painters tape was laid diagonally on the watercolor panel before starting.

The painter's tape was then removed and washi tape was placed along the edge of the watercolor section.

This was then layered onto a black panel and glued to a green card.
The sentiment Idiots Happen was stamped on white cardstock with black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder, layered onto papers and glued to the card.
A butterfly was stamped with black ink, embossed with clear and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  It was then cut out and glued onto the card.
Yellow sequins were randomly glued on.

Poinsettia Holiday

Hi friends, here's a Christmas card for those of you who don't want to spend a long time making one card and have a few to pump out this season.  It uses the new Poinsettia Pieces Perfectly Clear Stamp Set from Stampendous which has the bold image that you stamp with your color, then stamp your outline over it, or you can do it the other way around, both work.  For my ink colors, I used VersaFine Satin Red, Olympia Green and Onyx Black.  The yellow centers are Mustard Seed Distress Ink.  The sentiment that comes with the set was stamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with white embossing powder also from Stampendous.
Now go get started on those Christmas cards if you haven't already!!

No Stamping Required!

This card was made for my Stamp Club challenge of making a card with dies only, no stamps. That may sound easy but when you always use stamps on your cards, it can be a challenge!
If you don't belong to a stamp club, I recommend that you find one to join or if there isn't one, start a club of your own like I did.  It's such a joy to get together with other ladies who share the love of stamping and understand how exciting it is to buy a new glue haha!

For my card I used the Square Combo #1 OPC Die from Rubbernecker Stamps for the circles, it was run through my die cutting machine once with craft colored cardstock and you get all of these shapes shown below, to use on other projects.

The butterflies are the 2 part Butterfly #3 Die from Rubbernecker Stamps, it gives you the solid image and the intricately cut image.

The intricate image was cut out of white cardstock and the solid out of pink decorative paper.  I curved the wings of the white piece and glued only the body to the pink image so you get a 3D effect.

I don't know what company the Hello is from but it was cut from black cardstock.

Now to assemble it, Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink was rubbed on my craft mat, spritzed with water and picked up with a wet brush.  It was then splattered on a white card.  The circles, butterflies and hello, were then glued down using Glitter Art Glue.  A strip of the same pink decorative paper as the butterfly was glued to the bottom with a strip of black and white striped paper glued to that.  To finish it off, pink Nuvo Drops were randomly added.

Daisies Shaker Card

Today's my day to be up on the Rubbernecker Blog and I'm sharing this bright and cheery shaker card. You can click on the product names and it will take you directly to that product. My card is made using the Daisies stamp, colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and the matching Daisies Die Set was used to cut it out.  Nested Rectangle Stitched Die Set was used to cut out the window.  Here's a tip- to keep your shaker embellishments from sticking to the acetate, rub the inside of the acetate with a new dryer sheet. This really helps prevent cling!!  The sentiment from Best Friends Etc was stamped on a white strip of cardstock with Onyx Black VerasFine Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Little Monsters

Believe it or not, Halloween is just two months away. To help you get into the mood here's a card made with the super cute Little Monsters Perfectly Clear Set from Stampendous.  Don't they just put a smile on your face?!  Be sure to stop by the Stampendous Blog to see what the other Design Team Members have for you this week, the link is at the bottom.

Here's how my card was made;

  1. Stamp Little Monsters from the Little Monsters Perfectly Clear Set onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper with black ink and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder then color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Cut out and set aside.
  2. Using a circle die, die cut three circles in a white panel and glue to a black panel being sure not to glue to close to the circles where the Little Monsters will be tucked in. Apply glue to the back of the monsters and tuck them into the circles and glue one on the upper left corner.
  3. Layer this panel onto an orange card and set aside.
  4. Stamp Trick or Treat from the set, three times on a strip of purple paper with black ink, emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.  Glue to the card as shown.
  5. Randomly apply orange Nuvo Crystal Drops to the panel.

Terror-ific Sugar Skull

Today's card uses the Sugar Skull Stamp Set which includes the dies from Stampendous.

The images are stamped with Onyx Black VersaFine Ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut.  The Terror-ific banner was stamped on purple paper.  A black panel was randomly stamped with the rose using VeraMark Ink, then purple mica powder was brushed over the VersaMark.  A rag was used to wipe off the excess mica powder, this was then glued to an orange panel.  A banner die was used to cut orange and white striped decorative paper and a smaller banner cut from black card stock. The pieces were glued on using Nuvo Glue.  Crystal Micro Fine Glitter was added to the teeth using Quickie Glue.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to show up in the picture but it really looks great!
