Fishy Kiss

This House Mouse stamp is so cute and fun to color.  You can see the glare of the clear embossing powder on the fish bowl, it's a nice touch to add and pretty easy. All week the Stampendous Design Team will be sharing their House Mouse creations with you.

Here is how my card was made;
1.  Stamp Fishy Kiss on white paper with black ink, color with pencils and shade around the mouse with blue chalk using a flat brush to apply.
2.  Mask everything except for the fish bowl and smoosh a VersaMark pad on the fish bowl.  Remove the mask, sprinkle on Chunky Clear Deep Impressions Embossing Enamel and start heating from underneath so the chunks don't blow off.  Once it starts melting heat from the top.  You can see she shine in the picture, it looks like a fish bowl.
3.  Sponge the bottom of the panel with brown chalk and layer onto Sweep Potato paper and glue to a Sky card.
4.  Using the Fitted Frames Dies, die cut a white and Sky panel.  Stamp the white panel with sentiment using black ink.  Layer onto Sky panel.
5. Color three small self adhesive pearls with a Spectrum Noir marker OR2 to color them orange and apply above the sentiment.  Pop up on card.

To Cheer You

I love this To Cheer You stamp from Stampendous, it's one big stamp so the layout of your card is done for you! Here is how I made the card;

1.  Stamp image twice on white cardstock with black ink and color two of the butterflies from one sheet with pencils and cut out. Color all of the butterflies on the second sheet.
2.  Now it's time to dust off those chalks you got years ago, using them for the background is quick and easy.  All you have to do is use  a flat brush, apply blue chalks around the butterflies.  I never use a sealer and don't have any problem with it rubbing off.
3.  Bend the wings of the two cut out butterflies and glue onto the colored panel, gluing only the bodies down not the wings.
4. Color the dots white using a white Uniball Signo pen.
5.  Layer onto Plum paper, then onto a Caribbean Sea card.

Blog Hop With Stampendous and Whisker Graphics

STM_WG_FB_POST_2

All week Stampendous and Whisker Graphics have been making great crafts with both companies products.  They want you to have fun with these products too so there are prizes!! Just leave a thoughtful comment on each of the designers blogs. Winners will be announced Monday, May 9th.  You can be sure not to miss the announcement of the lucky winners by liking my facebook page STAMP THIS, I will list the names as soon as they are available!

Here's my project;
Today I'm sharing a birthday card and bag to be used as an envelope if you're hand delivering your card.
The card was made by stamping Daisy Field with Onxy Black VersaFine on a panel that was watercolored with Mowed Lawn and Lemonade Distress inks.  It was then layered onto a black panel with Zip Dry Ink and the birthday banner, that I got on clearance from Michael's was attached with a brad.  Daisy Field was stamped on the bottom of a white card with black ink, then the watercolored panel was glued on. The fold of the card was wrapped three times with Whisker Graphics Divine Twine Diva Crushed Celadon Solid .
A Glassine Bigger Bitty Bag  bag was stamped with Happy Birthday from the Friendly Phrases Perfectly Clear Set randomly with Gamma Green and Pearlescent Lime Brilliance Ink.  This ink was used because it will dry on coated papers, pigment and water based inks won't dry.  If you have a card that isn't on a white base, you can wrap your card in white tissue paper then put it in the bag. The top of the bag was folded over, two holes were punched and Crushed Celadon Twine was tied.

Now take a look at the prizes you could!!
Three prize packages consisting of one each –
  • Divine Twine Diva – Crushed Lavender Solid
  • Divine Twine Diva – Crushed Lavender Stripe
  • Divine Twine Diva – Dried Celadon Solid
  • Divine Twine Diva – Dried Celadon Stripe
  • An assortment of bags in a variety of sizes and patterns.
  • Winners choice of a Stampendous Cling Rubber Stamp Set and Matching Dies (from available stock)
These three winners MUST have a US mailing address (or territories or military).
But wait! Additionally, we will give away one prize to an Australian winner courtesy of our distributor there – The Stencil Specialist – which will consist of distributor’s choice of one stamp, one stencil and a surprise goodie.

Hydrangea

If you haven't used stencils, don't let them scare you.  They are so versital, you can paste emboss, dry emboss by running it through your die cut machine, sponge it, watercolor with it, spray it and that's what I did with this card, used spray.  Here is how it was made;

1.  Place DWLJ888 Hydrangea on a white paper panel in a large box.
2.  Spray with  purple and green sprays then place a Mixed Media White 3.  Paper panel over the top of the wet stencil and lightly rub.  Lift the panel and this is the on used for the card.  Let dry.
4.  Sponge the flower portion with pink ink and the leaves and stems with green.
5.  Use colored pencils to shade the flowers, stems and leaves.
6.  Sprinkle randomly with Shabby White Embossing Enamel and heat from underneath so it doesn't blow off.
7.  Tie the bottom with ribbon and glue to a pink card.
8.  Stamp sentiment with black ink on a white oval, sponge with pink ink, layer onto a green oval and outline the word "Joy" with a pink pencil.
9.  Pop up on card.
