Say Thank You With Owls

Welcome to the last week of the Dreamweaver Stencils "To Die For!"  I have loved using dies all month!  I have used the adorable tiny owl from the Nesting Owls Die Set since I didn't use him in my other posts.  Now, on to how the card was made.

1.  Being the craft hoarder that I am I had the negative of the Leafless Tree I used on my last post, so I used that as a stencil and sponged Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress inks onto a white card. I then out lined the limbs with a glitter Gelly Roll pen to add some pretty shimmer.
2. Then the owl was die cut onto two white squares, the edges were sponged with Antique Linen and glued onto green decorative paper with Zip Dry Glue.  to finish the little owl off, brown self adhesive rhinestones were used for the eyes.
3.  Thank You was stenciled on the card with White Dreamweaver Stencils Embossing Paste, then sprinkled with Aged Green Embossing Enamel from Stampendous while wet, then heated with a heat gun.
4.  Last Christmas I found row of a little white fence at Hobby Lobby and bought 3 packages since they said they only carry it at Christmas.  So if you like it start looking for it now, I'm sure they are putting this stuff out already.  So with wire cutters, I cut it to size, rubbed Toffee VersaFine on the edges, sprinkled it with Aged Green Embossing Enamel and heated it holding the heat gun up high so too much of the powder wouldn't blow off.
5.  The edges of the card was sponged with Antique Linen, the fence was glued on with Fabri Tac by Beacon Adhesives (it dries strong and quickly), and the owls were popped up with foam tape.

Beach Days

With this heat and humidity, I could use a day at the beach just like this cute little guy from Stampendous, but I'm kinda in the middle of the US so that won't happen anytime soon!

1.  Stamp Umbrella Nap and color with pencils, then emboss the sky with Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel.  Layer onto an orange panel and tie with pink May Arts Ribbon.
2.  Stamp dots from the Grunge set with Pearlescent Orange Brilliance Ink.  Layer onto a black panel and glue to a pink card with Zip Dry by Beacon Adhesives.
3.  Stamp Enjoy Gift on white paper with Onyx Black VersaFine ink and outline the letters with pencils.  Sponge the edges with orang ink and pop up on the card.

Fun With Dies!

Welcome back to the July.. month to DIE for! Yep. All of this month, the Dream Team has been  featuring our newest toys...our DIES! You'd be surprised at how many we have, and what fun things you can do with them...especially when used in conjunction with many of their stencil counterparts. They are such a simple way to create an effective card.

On July 3rd I shared a gift bag using the Owl Buddy stencil and said to "keep all of the extra pieces" and I used them for this card.  You can see the bag HERE.

Here is how my card was made:

1.  Take the "negative" portion of the die cut paper, glue it to a kraft colored panel and place the extra pieces from the last project in as if you were doing a puzzle and glue with Beacon Adhesives 3 in 1 Glue.
2.  Take a cream colored skeleton leaf, rub it with VersaMark ink and emboss with Jeweled Gold embossing powder from Stampendous. Glue underneath the owl piece and layer onto decorative paper.
3.  Place a Dreamweaver Stencils Fiberglass Screen on a kraft colored card and stipple with Tea Dye Distress ink.  Remove the fiberglass screen and clean (I used a baby wipe.)
4.  Die cut Leafless Tree from green paper and glue to the card and mount owl piece.
5.  Stencil "hello" from the LG704 Birthday Words stencil onto a small tag with Raisin Adirondack ink and sponge with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress inks.  Tie with gold raffia and pop up on card with 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

I'm sure that our "A" team is just DIE-ing to show you their creations, as well as our Guest Designers for the month of July...

Hoo Doesn't Love Dies?!

Welcome to July...the month to DIE for! Yep. All of this month, the Dream Team is featuring our newest toys...our DIES! You'd be surprised at how many we have, and what fun things you can do with them...especially when used in conjunction with many of their stencil counterparts. They are such a simple way to create an effective card.

 Here's mine for this week:

1.  Fold brown decorative paper in half, place the LL3039 Owl Buddy die on the folded piece with the fold at the top.  Make sure a small portion of the die is above the fold so when it is die cut you will have an owl shaped card.

2.  Stencil the Owl Buddy onto the center of the of the card with Dreamweaver Stencils Metallic Copper Embossng Paste and let dry.

3.  Use the DG751 Nesting Owls die to cut decorative paper from three different patterns.  Besure to keep the piece of paper you die cut your owl from, I will show you what can be done with it and the extra pieces on my July 17th post (to be sure not to miss it, you can become an e-mail subscriber and automatically get an e-mail when there is a new post).

4.  Pieces were glued on top of the embossed areas with Beacon Adhesives 3 in 1 Glue. The beak and eyes were left so the embossing could be seen.

5.  Green decorative paper was stenciled with LG642 Branch with Tea Dye Distress Ink, then layered onto rust paper and glued to a bag that was also stenciled with LG642 Branch.

6.  Wired May Arts Ribbon was tied to the handle.

I'm sure that our "A" team is just DIE-ing to show you their creations, as well as our Guest Designers for the month of July...

United We Stand!

Happy July 1st!  Here is a card to get you ready for the 4th of July, aren't these Star Spangled Mice cute?!  The image was colored with colored pencils and the stripes on the card were made by cutting strips of Fran's Sticky Panels, adhering them to the card and embossing with Shabby White Embossing Enamel.  Then stamp Vintage Uppercase letters USA with Versamark ink and emboss white.

To all my USA friends, have a Happy 4th Of July!!!!!!
