Where did the summer go? Kids are back in school, with all the insanity
that goes with it, vacations are a not-so-distant memory, and it is once again
time to get busy with the important things in life...crafting for the holidays!
Yay! All of September the Dreamweaver Stencils Dream Team will
be featuring all the new goodies we
have for the "Most wonderful time of the year", the fall and winter
holiday season. New stencil designs, new dies, and...brand new
embossing folders (the embossing folders will be available very soon so please keep checking back) featuring some of our top-selling designs, all to be
found on-line through the Stencil with Style web-site,
or your local papercrafting store.
Enter the September Challenge for a chance to win!
Of course, we have our monthly challenge for you to play along, so post
your own holiday creations, and use the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up!
blog, for a chance to win the prize at the end of the month (link is also at the bottom of this post). We also have our
fabulous Guest Designer for the month of September, Wendy Price!
Now for my card, I love glitter and I love to make cards that are fun to make, pretty and not complex but look complex (if you don't know how to make them). I achieved this with my retro Christmas card using the double glitter technique.
1. First I used the new LX7026 Chevron Background and rubbed the back with Coconut Oil Soap and placed the stencil, soap side down on Double Sided Mounting Paper. Sprinkle on Red Micro Glitter from Stampendous, rub in and shake off excess. Holding paper glitter side down, carefully remove the stencil from the paper.
2. Now sprinkle on Crystal Micro Glitter, rub and shake off excess.
3. Use the DG674 Nested Ornaments Die to cut shape out of the glittered paper. Set aside.
4. Using the same die, cut out the ornament from a square of black gitter paper, mat it on white paper and stick the glittered ornament in cut out area.
5. Mount to a red card, add black glitter strips, sentiment dot stickers and ribbon.
