Enter If You Dare

Today I had a little time on my hands so I thought I would play along with a couple of challenges, The Paper Players challenge #215 which is a sketch challenge and Cards In Envy where you need to use twine and cards must be able to fit into an envelope, so nothing hanging off or too lumpy.

All stamps are by Stampendous and I used two sets, the Halloween Charms Perfectly Clear Stamp Set and Tricky Words Perfectly Clear Stamp Set.  The clear sets were perfect to use on this card since I punched out the shapes first then stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  The sentiment was embossed with Twilight Embossing Powder from Stampendous, it's super pretty in person, black with glitter so it shimmers!

Yay! All of September the Dreamweaver Stencils Dream Team will be featuring all the new goodies we have for the "Most wonderful time of the year", the fall and winter holiday season. New stencil designs, new dies, and...brand new embossing folders (the embossing folders will be available very soon so please keep checking back) featuring some of our top-selling designs, all to be found on-line through the Stencil with Style web-site, or your local papercrafting store.

Enter the September Challenge for a chance to win!
Of course, we have our monthly challenge for you to play along, so post your own holiday creations, and use the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog, for a chance to win the prize at the end of the month (link is also at the bottom of this post). We also have our fabulous Guest Designer for the month of September, Wendy Price!

Now for my card, I love glitter and I love to make cards that are fun to make, pretty and not complex but look complex (if you don't know how to make them).  I achieved this with my retro Christmas card using the double glitter technique.
1.  First I used the new LX7026 Chevron Background and rubbed the back with Coconut Oil Soap and placed the stencil, soap side down on Double Sided Mounting Paper.  Sprinkle on Red Micro Glitter from Stampendous, rub in and shake off excess.  Holding paper glitter side down, carefully remove the stencil from the paper.
2.  Now sprinkle on Crystal Micro Glitter, rub and shake off excess.
3.  Use the DG674 Nested Ornaments Die to cut shape out of the glittered paper.  Set aside.
4.  Using the same die, cut out the ornament from a square of black gitter paper, mat it on white paper and stick the glittered ornament in cut out area.
5.  Mount to a red card, add black glitter strips, sentiment dot stickers and ribbon.

Here's the list of our "A" Team with their links for the week:

Stampendous Is Going To Add A Little Dazzle

Stampendous is going to Add A Little Dazzle this week and give away 3 prize packages!!!!

Hope you're enjoying all the inspiration featuring Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets and Stampendous Stamps and Essentials this week! We know you'd love to win some goodies to try yourself! If you missed the earlier posts, here are the links for you. MONDAY, TUESDAY The team over at Add a Little Dazzle has created a special featuring the metals from this blog hop for those of you who have already realized you're going to need these products. You can find it here - Add A Little Dazzle Stampendous Hop Special. Of course you might win some, too! We're giving away three prize packages this week for comments on the blogs. A nice package of Metal Sheets, Stamps
and Cutting Dies!

Now here is how my card was made.

1.  Rub an embossing buddy (or baby powder) over blue metal sheet from Add A Little Dazzle and stamp  the large snowflake from the Snowflake Trio with VersaMark Ink and emboss with Shabby White Embossing Enamel.  The embossing buddy or baby powder prevents the embossing powder from sticking to the areas that are not stamped.
2.  Use the Snowflake Die Cut die to cut out the snowflake and also die cut the snowflake from a cereal box.
3.  Glue the metal snowflake to the cereal box die cut using Fabri-Tac glue and set aside.
4.  Using an embossing folder, emboss snowflakes on a white panel.
5.  Glue bling to the bottom of the panel using 3 in 1 glue from Beacon Adhesives, wrap with silver cord and tie on a tag stamped with "snowflake."  Color in with a Spectrum Noir markers.  Glue to a white card.
6.  Pop up snowflake with 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Trick or Treat Time!!

Okay, this is my first project using Spectrum Noir markers or ANY type of alcohol markers!!  I always use Prisma colored pencils with a blender pencil to get my blended shades but awhile back I got a full set of Spectrum Noirs from the wonderful Crafter's Companion! Now with the kids off to college and a short lull in designing, I have time to practice, yipee!  I know over time I will become much better :)

Here is how my cute card was made and of course all stamps are from Stampendous!

1.  Stamp Count Maxwell with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and color with Spectrum Noir markers TN1-TN7,GG1, GG4, OR1-OR3, LY1 CT3, PP1.

2.  Die Cut using Dreamweaver Stencils DD001 Nesting Frames, layer onto orange and black die cut pieces  using Beacon Adhesives 3 in 1 Glue. Remember a little goes a long way and don't put it to close to the edge, you don't want it to ooze out.

3.  Die cut a small fence from black paper (sorry, don't know where it came from) and glue to the bottom of Count Maxwell using Zig 2 Way glue marker.
4.  Stamp Trick or Treat from the Tricky Words set , color the same as above, die cut and layer.
5.  Stamp Damask Bats on the bottom half of decorative paper, add a web corner from Recollections, layer onto black and mount to and orange card.
6.  Glue Count Maxwell tot he center of the card with 3 in 1 glue and pop us sentiment with 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
7.  Now to tie in the purple web, add purple self adhesive rhinestones around the bats and on the fence.

Christmas Joy

Where did the summer go? Kids are back in school, vacations are a not-so-distant memory, and it is once again time to get busy with the important things in life...crafting for the holidays! Yay! All of September the Dream Team will be featuring all the new goodies we have for the "Most wonderful time of the year", the fall and winter holiday season. New stencil designs, new dies, and...brand new embossing folders (the embossing folders will be available very soon so please keep checking back) featuring some of our top-selling designs, all to be found on-line through the Stencil with Style web-site, or your local papercrafting store.

Now for my card, I love elegant cards that look beautiful and are easy to do and I accomplished just that with this ornament Joy card.
Here's how my holiday inspiration for this week was made:
1.  Paste emboss the Oval Ornament stencil and Medium Oval stencil with gold paste, remove and clean stencil and let dry completely.
2.  Place the stencil back over the embossed ornament and apply Crackle Embossing paste.  Remove and clean stencil and let the ornament dry.  The Crackle Paste will crack as it dries.
3.  Place matching die over the ornament and run through your die cut machine.  Now the paste is quite thick so you may have to use an exacto here and there to fully cut.  You don't need to do this if you just paste emboss without the Crackle Paste.
4.  Sponge the edges of the ornaments with Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko for an elegant look.  This is ink will dry completely on the paste.
5.  Dry emboss the Chevron stencil through your embossing machine by layering the base plate, stencil, paper, rubber mat and top plate. You can spritz the back of your paper with water or alcohol to get a deeper impression.
6.  Pop up the ornaments using 3D Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, add gold cord and red ribbon then layer onto a gold panel and glue onto a white card using Beacon Adhesives 3 in 1 Glue.
7.  Using the new Dual Alphabet dies, cut out the letters to spell JOY and place at the bottom of the card.
