Here is another card using the chalk background technique, this time I used pink and orange chalks for the background. This is also sprayed with gold glitter spray and it is really to bad that it doesn't show up because it is so beautiful! The stamps are a clear stamp set by Stampendous and how true it is, you can never have to many shoes or purses! This set also has the word "stamps" but there isn't a stamp in the set :( The shoe on the card is stamped randomly with VersaMark ink, I love VersaMark, it makes great backgrounds. There is a purse challenge over at "No Time To Stamp" if you would like to go take a look at it.
Health update- I'm finally feeling better! Wow it has been three weeks, I've never been sick so long, who has time for that! Luckily this week will be hot here in Southern California, we are to have highs of about 78 on Tuesday and Wednesday. So I plan on opening all of the windows to let the sun and fresh air in to get rid of all these germs that I am sure are still lurking in my house!
So I'm feeling better just in time for the Girl Scout cookie sales that I am in charge of again this year. We have 16 cookie booths set up for the month of March, I'm hoping we will sell out so we can cancel some of those, I need time to stamp :)
Recipe
Stamps- Stampendous
Inks- black VersaFine, VersaMark
Paper- misc black white and terra cotta
Plus- chalk, gold glitter spray, stickers by Stampendous, ribbon, paper clip, foam squares
I've never tried the gold glitter spray technique and it sounds very intriquing! I'm sorry it does not show up well in your photo, but I can imagine how pretty it looks. Is the spray something you can get at M's or J's? By the way, I have plenty of shoes, but I never have enough purses!!
ReplyDeleteLove the chalk ... funny, my list would read more like CDs, Books, and Magazines, but same philosophy!
ReplyDeleteYes Nancy, you can get the gold glitter spray at Michael's, it's in the paint section and locked up. I love the spray, I've even used it on tile coasters. Just be sure to spray it upside down when done to clean out the nozzle so it won't clog :)
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the purses and shoes. I love this card! Great job!
ReplyDeleteVery cute card - I love the chalk!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card! And the sentiments are bang on!
ReplyDeleteCute! Love the versamark background and chalking. Always learning new things when I come over this way... gold glitter spray? Will have to check that out the next time I hit M's.
ReplyDeletecute card...and oh so true!!!! :)

WOW! Good luck with all those cookie sales - I hope you sell out in only a few. Great card. I love the images. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteHi, Jamie! Just responding to the Build-A-Brad question you had. You asked: "Isn't the glue dot that you put on top sticky on the top? Or is it different from the ones I have?"
ReplyDeleteThe acrylic adhesive dot that goes on top of the brad is sticky underneath. It's like a glue dot but acyrlic and sticky only on one side. The part where I use the snail to add a bit of adhesive to the DSP I punched out is so that I can pop it onto the brad to keep it from moving around on me. HTH! Let me know if I didn't answer your question.
Oh, your weather sounds wonderful! Send some of that to Illinois! This card is very cute! I love it! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to use gold glitter spray on top of chalking creations...thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to thank you for the sweet comments you left about my first diggi page and my grandfather passing on...it meant a lot to me.
What a great card -- love all the shoes and purses and love the little sentiment sign you made!!! I'm so glad you linked to my Blog so I could see -- thank you so much!!! Looking foward to your next project!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Jamie..
