Clean, Simple, Quick Cards

Here are a couple of clean, simple and quick cards that are packed with color to end the year.
I used the flower die from the Spring Borders Cutting Dies Set from Stampendous with green cardstock from the Succulent Cardstock pack and pink and purple cardstock from the Floral Cardstock pack from PrintWorks

Once the floral pieces were die-cut and glued to the white panel, the panel was die-cut with a die from the new Deckle set from Stampendous that will be available in few days, and then layered onto other die-cut panels.
The sentiments from the Spring Sayings and Brushed Messages Perfectly Clear Stamp Sets, that were stamped with black ink on white cardstock.

Background with a Spinaround Stencil

Hi my crafty friends!  Today I have a thank you card made with the new Spinaround Flower Stencils from Rubbernecker Stamps.  I have to say I am loving this stencil so much, it really makes stenciling with different colors easy.

To make the background, I placed the stencil on a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" white cardstock from PrintWorks and I used my Wendy Vecchi STAY-tion which has magnets to hold the stencil and paper down so it won't move while using a blending brush.  Then I added one color of ink to all of the flowers.

Then you turn the stencil 1/4, make sure the corners are aligned and add another color.

Continue turning the stencil 1/4 and applying a new color until you are done.
Since my colors work well together I didn't have to clean the stencil when changing colors, but be sure to start with the lightest color if you do this.

For a little background interest I used the Crosshatch Design Die to cut both orange cardstock and white glitter paper.

Below you can see that one die-cut piece of glitter paper is used, glued in the space and stamped with Sepia VersaFine Ink.
The Friend Script with Shadow Die was cut from brown cardstock and white glitter paper and glued diagonally to the card.

Sparkly Christmas Tags

Today I have a couple of sparkly Christmas tags that can be attached to gifts or mounted on a card especially if you're still making Christmas cards.

  • Die-cut white cardstock and gold glitter cardstock using the largest of the Nested Stitch Tag Dies.
  • Place the Circle Lattice Die Cut in the center of the white tag and run it through your Cross Over ll Die Cutting Machine.  When you remove the die from the tag, keep some of the centers of the Lattice in place.
  • Glue the white tag ontop of the gold glitter tag, be sure to place glue on the backs of the little pieces that are staying in the die-cut piece so that they don't fall out.

  • Next, die-cut trees using the Evergreen Tree Die and several shades of green cardstock, gold cardstock, glitter cardstock and green decorative papers.

  • Stamp the sentiment from the Santa Post Card Set on dark green cardstock with VersaMark Ink and emboss with White Embossing Powder.
  • Die-cut the sentiment using the coordinating die in the Santa Post Card Die Set.
  • Pop this up on the right top side of the tag using foam squares.

  • Then glue one tall tree flat on the tag and pop up the other three trees with foam squares.
  • Add white Enamel Accents to the small green tree.

  • Punch a hole at the top of the tag and add green ribbon then tie it with a gold cord.

Upcycled Christmas Tag Holder

Hi there, Jamie here with you today with a question, were you one of the toilet paper hoarders at the beginning of the pandemic?  Well if you were, keep those empty toilet paper rolls and craft with them!!  I made them into tag holders for Christmas tags, read on to find out how easy it is to make.

To start recycling the roll, wrap it with Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4".  I wrapped two rows at the top and bottom and one in the center to make sure that the paper isn't loose once the roll is flattened.

Next I cut a piece of decorative paper a little longer than the roll so that it could be tucked inside.  I wrapped the roll and cut the paper so that it would slightly overlap.  I don't have measurements just in case the rolls are different sizes.
Extreme Double-Sided Tape was placed along all four edges, the roll was placed at on edge and rolled to the other edge.

To tuck the paper in, the paper overhang was cut approximately every 1/4" and folded down.  Since there's already tape at the edge just give it a little rub so that it will adhere.

Next the roll was flattened with the seam of the paper in the back.  Half of a circle die was placed inside of the roll with the cutting blade facing up.  It was then run through my CrossOverll Diecutting Machine to cut out half a circle.
The same circle die plus one that's one size larger was used to cut out the purple cardstock and it was glued the roll cut out using the Dual Tip Glue Pen.  You can see in the picture below, the cut marks of the paper. If this bothers you, you can cut a piece of the same decorative paper and glue a piece inside. But for me, I'm not that picky.

Now it's time to use the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit!  One of the taller trees from the tree foam sheet was placed on the right side of the roll and then it was rubbed with pink mica powder.  Then white Enamel Accents were placed on the tree, once this dried the star from the kit was placed at the top of the tree and silver foil from the kit was placed on the star.  When you use the foil, make sure the pretty side is facing you and the "ugly" side is down.

Next up is the sentiment, it was stamped on white cardstock with black ink and the edges were sponged with Cactus Flower Ink.
The sentiment was then layered on slightly larger silver glitter paper using a strip of Extreme Double-Sided Tape.
To attach this to the roll, turn it over and place a small amount of the Dual Tip Glue Pen on the right and two 3D Foam Circles on the left side.  This needs to be done since the roll is still a bit curved even though it has been flattened.
A strip of Extreme Double-Sided Tape was placed at the bottom of the role and rubbed with pink mica powder.

A tag was made by cutting a piece of white cardstock to fit inside the roll.  It was then rubbed with blue, lavender and silver Brilliance Inks for the background.  Holly Leaves were placed on the tag and rubbed with green mica powder and the dots were rubbed with the same mica powder as above.
The sentiment was then stamped with black ink and ribbon was added to the top.

Merry Little Christmas

Here's a little inspiration to those of you that haven't started your Christmas cards and need a design that's quick and easy so that you can pump those puppies out!  You can stamp and emboss then do the rest while watching t.v.
Here's how my card was made-

  • Die-cut white cardstock using the 3rd largest die from the Nested Rectangle Stitch Die Set.
  • Stamp several trees from the Pine Tree Set along the bottom of the panel using VersaMark Ink and emboss with white embossing powder.

  • Now ink the panel starting from the bottom going up so you get a faded look with Pine Needles Distress Ink.  I used this ink so that it will rub off of the embossed trees, permanent and archival inks will stain.
  • Stamp a couple of smaller trees in between the embossed trees with the Pine Needles Ink.
  • Layer this onto a slightly larger craft-colored cardstock panel and pop it up on a white card using 3D Foam Squares.

  • Stamp the sentiment from the Christmas Joy Set onto kraft-colored paper with VersaMark Ink and emboss with white embossing powder.
  • Layer this onto a slightly larger white cardstock panel and pop it up diagonally on the left side.
  • Add a star to the top of the right tree and two stars on the sentiment using the E-Z Runner® Stars Refillable Dispenser then sprinkle them with gold glitter.

Just For You

It's always nice to take a break from coloring images and Rubbernecker Stamps has a line of layered floral clear stamps that leave you with a beautiful and colorful image.

For my card, I used the Wild Rose Set and inked it with Color Fuse Inks from sets #1, #2 and #11.
The Sand Stencil was used to make a background panel with Color Fuse Inks from sets #1 and #2, the colors were blended with blender brushes but sponges work too.
To add a little dimension, the stamped image was layered on several panels and popped up with foam squares.  A butterfly was die-cut using the Small Butterflies Die and this too was popped up.

A Note To Lift You

Rubbernecker Stamps has a new release and one of the new items is this, Babies on Balloons set.  It's such a cute set and I thought it would look cute against a pastel cloud background. Here's how my card was made-
  • Use the Cloud Stencil to stencil clouds on white cardstock with Blush, Sky and Clover Color Fuse Inks. Blender brushes or sponges can be used for this, I used blender brushes.

  • Die-cut the cloud panel using the Slimline Solid Bubble Scallop Die.  I use the CrossOver ll die-cut machine, you don't have to change the plates depending on what you're cutting because it has a wheel on the top for you to adjust the pressure, so easy!!

  • Layer this onto a slightly larger white cardstock panel and then onto a light blue card.

  • Stamp the animals and balloons from the Babies on Balloons Clear Set on watercolor paper with VersaFine Ink and emboss with clear embossing powder.
  • Watercolor the images with Inktense Pencils and cut them out.

  • Stamp the sentiment from the same set with black ink on white cardstock and layer this onto slightly larger blue cardstock. Glue this diagonally to the top left of the card.
  • Pop up the animals and balloons with foam squares.
  • Glue twine to the back of the balloons, tie a knot towards the bottom and glue the knot to the animal.
  • Randomly glue sequins to the card and pink enamel dots around the sentiment.

Birthday Balloons Slimline Card

Even though many of us are working on getting our Christmas cards done, we still need to make birthday cards for all of the November and December birthdays.  This card is so much prettier in person, I'll have to see if I can post a short video to all of the sparkle and shine can be seen.
Here's how my card was made-
  • Die-cut decorative paper using the largest die from the Slimline Nested Scallop w/ Stitch.
  • Place the Slimline Inside Rouned Square die in the center of the decorative paper piece and run it through your CrossOver ll die cut machine (with this machine there is no need to change out plates.  You can adjust the pressure by turning a knob on top, so easy!). Also, die-cut white cardstock with the same die, to use one of the squares.

  • Pop up the decorative paper piece on a slightly larger white cardstock panel using foam squares.
  • Stamp the happy birthday square from the Happy Birthday Set, on one of the die-cut squares with VersaMark Ink and emboss with Iced Pink Embossing Enamel.
  • Stamp Happy Birthday from the same set with VersaMark Ink and emboss it with gold embossing powder.

  • Apply foam squares to the back of the square and pop it up in the center open square.

  • Use the Balloons Die and die-cut decorative paper and Iced Pink embossed cardstock.
  • Add three balloons to the top and bottom squares, gluing the side balloons to the decorative paper card and popping up the center balloon with foam squares.

  • Glue this to a pink slimline card and randomly add sequins.
