Arrgg Matey

Arrgg Matey, I'm playing with the Arrgg Matey ser from Whimsy Stamps again.  This time the cute little pirate bird is layered against a bunch of decorative papers and he's colored with Prisma Colored Pencils.  This month I've made three cards with this set and they all look different so you can use it again and again.

The first was a shaker card.

The next was made with pastel blues.

Happy Birthday

I'm building up my birthday stash and wanted to make some cute cards but didn't want to take the time to color them.  So I pulled out my Happy Everything set and used summer colors of VersaFine Clair ink, aren't they wonderfully vibrant! The colors are Cheerful, Verdant and Summertime.  I stamped several in these colors now I think I'll try some other color combos because you know you can never have enough birthday cards on hand!

Smile, Smile, Smile

Smile, it's Tuesday, let's make this a great week it's, the end of February and the beginning of March.  In an attempt to clean up my desk, a little Spring cleaning, I thought why put things away when I can create with what's scattered about.   I had made this background for my card last month but never used it, it was time.

The Buffalo Plaid stamp was stamped on watercolor paper with VersaMark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  I then rubbed different colors of Distress Inks directly on the panel, sprayed it with water and let it dry.  This is one of my favorite techniques.

The Smile Large Word Die was then die cut three times from black cardstock and once from yellow, pink and orange.  The colors were offset over the black to give a shadow effect.

If you have extra pieces laying around on your desk, don't put them away, create!

A Pirates Life

Hi my friends, today's card uses new stamps and dies from Whimsy Stamps.  This cute pirate set is "Arrgg Pirates" and it's colored with Prisma Colored Pencils, the sand mound is sponged with Tea Dye Ink and I sponged it off of torn paper to give it the uneven
look.  (Sorry about the small font on the first couple of lines, I'm not able to change it...hmmm)

Today I have an uplifting card made with Rubbernecker Stamps.
The Daisy Daydream is stamped in black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper.  It is then colored in using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens (really couldn't they have come up with a shorter name? haha) and die cut with the Nested Rectangle Stitch Die Set.
The background is stamped using the Distress Mini Square BG with Twisted Citron Ink.
The sentiment is Being You and is stamped with black ink with the words "people" and "simply by" being colored in with a purple colored pencil.

Butterfly Friends

Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday my crafty friends!  Today's card uses one of my favorite techniques, Direct to Paper.  Here is what I did, Butterfly Background was stamped on watercolor paper with VersaMark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn were rubbed directly on the embossed panel (**IMPORTANT always start with your lightest colors).  Spray liberally with water, don't touch and let dry, it lightens a bit when dry.
While still wet.

Layer onto black and white panels and mount to card.  Use the  Friend Word Die to cute black and white papers and layer.  Add a couple of rhinestones and you're done!

Valentine's Forever

Hi my friends, I'm up on the Rubbernecker Blog today with this Valentine's Day card.  It's not always easy making a Valentine's Day card for the guys in our life.  We're so used to making pretty Valentine's, so I decided to go in a different direction with a bit of grunge.  My husband will really appreciate this!
I used the  Sm Heart Outline Stitch Die which cuts the solid heart and the frame all at once.  The spots that are stamped in gray are from the Splatter Stains set and the Forever which is stamped with VersaMark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder is from the Best Friends Etc set.
