Dog Tree

We have a "tree" theme over at Stampendous this week and we have a ton to choose from between stamps and stencils! I picked a card I had in the July Catalog using the new Dog Tree stamp to share, since it really is time to start on those Christmas cards.

Here's how my card was made.
1.  Stamp Dog Tree on white cardstock with black ink and color with pencils.
2.  Sponge the edges with shades of green ink and sprinkle around the Dog Tree with Shabby White Embossing Enamel and heat emboss from underneath so the embossing powder doesn't blow off.
3.  Wrap the corners with ribbon, glue to a red panel and mount to a kraft color card.

Shades of Blue

It's time for Challenge #17 Monochromatic over at the Rubbernecker Blog.  Join in on the challenge by clicking HERE, they're giving away prizes, first place is a $25.00 gift card and for 2nd place a $10.00 gift card, good to use online at Rubbernecker.com.

To make my card I sponged a panel with Faded Jeans Distress Ink and stamped it with 540-01 Dandelion Stems several times using the color.
The sentiment is from the 3020 Butterflies Are Free Clear Set and it was stamped with Majestic Blue VersaFine Ink and embossed with clear.
The panel was then layered onto a dark blue panel and mounted on a light blue card. Pearls and rhinestones were added to the dandelions for a touch of bling.

Parchment Candle Card

Here's a little Christmas inspiration for you today using the new Parchment Candle from Stampendous.  I made this Christmas card to have an old time feel and gave it some bling, using the Frantage technique with the embossing around the image. You always have to have a little bling at Christmas!

Here's how my card was made;
1.  Stamp Parchment Candle on white cardstock with black ink, color with colored pencils, cut out and sponge around the edges with Antique Linen ink.
2.  Randomly apply Gold Dot Sparklers and add Glossy Accents to the flame and set aside to dry.
3.  Stick a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Sticky Panels onto a kraft color card and place the image centered on top.
4.  Sprinkle the edges of the Sticky Panels with the Gold Encrusted Jewel Kit and emboss.
5.  Sponge the edges of the card with Antique Linen ink.

Thank a Teacher

Today I'm excited to be sharing my first post as a member of the Rubbernecker Design Team!! I saw them at the Arlington Texas Scrapbook Convention and really liked their wide variety of humorous stamps along with their two part watercolor stamps. So when I saw they had a Design Team Call, I had to give it a go and I'm happy to say they picked me!

For this weeks Challenge, the theme is "Back to School" and I thought a teacher would really enjoy knowing that they are appreciated for all of their hard work.

I used the Poppy Trio, a two part stamp and the Nested Rectangle Small Stitch Dies to make this fun shaker card. My secret to making shaker cards is to die cut the window frame from two panels of cardstock. That way you glue down one panel onto your card, with out the diecut center.  Next you stamp your sentiment on the center piece and glue it into place. I to this for several reasons, 1. I know the sentiment will be aligned in the window and 2.  I know where to place the foam tape around the window.

Road Trip

Here's a sentiment that makes life a little bit better if we just remember to live by it.  It's from the Campground Perfectly Clear Set from Stampendous and it works perfectly with the new WF Travel Perfectly Clear Set.

Here's how I made my card;
1.  Stamp images from the WF Travel Perectly Clear Set, color with colored pencils, cut out and set aside.
2.  Sponge blue and purple inks on a white panel, splatter with water to give a water drop look.
3.  Use Fitted Frames A to die cut a frame in the card.  Use the same die and one size larger to diecut a white frame and glue around the opening.
4.  Glue acetate to cover opening by gluing to the back.
5.  Stamp sentiment on a white panel that is slightly larger than the sponged panel, with black ink and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
6.  Apply strips of foam tape around the sentiment making sure it won't be seen through the frame.
7.  Put sequins and beads in the foam area and place the window panel on top of the foam.
8.  Glue cut out pieces to the front of the card as shown.
