Comfort, Strenght, Hope...

This card was made for my "glossy card" class and it is using a crayon resist technique that is super easy! I used this wonderful clear stamp set from Stampendous and stamped the words in black StazOn ink, then stamped the leaves and let dry a few seconds. Using a clear or white crayon, color in the leaves. Then stipple or sponge on the cranberry and lettuce Adirondack inks diagonally, when finished wipe with a paper towel and the leaves will pop! Layer this onto black and gold papers, punch three holes along the left side and add ribbon then layer onto white paper. On a cranberry panel, stamp the leaves from the set using galaxy gold Brilliance and mount to a white card. Add the circle stickers from Stampendous to two of the corners and you are done. This card can be used for sympathy, for someone with an illness or who has lost a job.

Now here is a picture of Melanie who recently got her braces off, look at those wonderfully straight teeth!
So now for the reason I haven't been posting recently. My MIL is in the hospital for the 12th day and is expected to be there for another 2-3 weeks. She has a bunch of problems that came about quickly and we are hoping she gets better. So we have been visiting her often and haven't had time for much else. Here is a picture of my hubby Paul and my son Greg visiting Gram.
Here in southern California we have year round school and tomorrow is Greg's last day of 7th grade, wow my baby is growing up! So tomorrow is his awards ceremony and he will be getting an award for a 4.0 gpa, we are sooooo proud of him!! Then he is off for a month and into 8th grade he goes in July.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you all have a great week.

Smile :)

I was in a brown and blue mood when this card was made. The background is a resist technique on glossy paper. The flowers by Great Impressions were stamped on glossy white paper with VersaMark ink and then mushroom Adirondack ink was brayered over it. If you try this be sure to rub with a paper towel after you brayer. Fluffles by Stampendous was stamped on white matte paper with brown VersaFine ink, heat set and colored in with pencils. This was then layered onto brown and light blue papers.

My daughter Melanie is home sick today for the third day, I'm afraid I gave her this cold but she is worse than I was! She's been sleeping all day so I'm hoping tomorrow she will feel better and will be able to go to school.
Hope all of my blogging friends are staying healthy!

Thinking of You...

This card was made using glossy paper, it's one of my favorite techniques and it's oh so easy.
1. Cut glossy paper to 5 1/4" x 4" and mask the bottom with torn paper.
2. Brayer with butterscotch Adirondack ink and then stipple or sponge the edges with caramel Adirondack ink.
3. Stamp the butterfly from a Stampendous clear stamp set and the word "Comfort" in black dye ink first then fill in the space with the other images.
4. Outline some of the images with a white gel pen.
5. Remove the mask and stamp the sentiment also from Stampendous, in black.
6. Apply a chain Class A'Peel sticker from Stampendous to the bottom.
7. Then glue it onto a glossy white card and your done!

Now onto my weekend. My daughter Melanie's birthday was Friday, she turned 16 wow is that hard to believe! Here is a picture of her with her balloons.

Her are Melanie and Greg, I actually got Greg to put his arm around her, woo hoo!

Melanie took this picture of us with my Mom, she does a good job at taking her own pictures.

We've lived in our house for 6 years and for the first 4 years we had a nice looking backyard until our little home devaluators known as Maxie and Minie (see picture below) thought they could dig to China through our lawn if they tried hard enough, they almost made it! So for about the last 2 years we have had dirt and weeds back there which looked terrible!
About two weeks ago we got sod put in and it looks beautiful! And to be sure the dogs don't destroy it again, we put up a little fence that we attached to the patio posts, hehehehe try to get through that!

Thank you for stopping by, have a great week :)

Bloom

Here is another acetate card using the Petal Plus Set from Stampendous. I stamped the petal five times with blue Brilliance, cut them out and colored the little flowers with a glitter pen and a white gel pen. The center of the flower was stamped with VersaMark and embossed it with white. The petals were glued to a white circle that was glued on the front of the acetate card and the dark blue circle was glued to the inside front page. I stamped a design on the front of the acetate with white Brilliance ink. The ribbon was tied around the card for the final touch.
Well this week I've had a pesky cold and I have finally gotten rid of it, so now I have housework to do since the cleaning fairy didn't stop by :(
Have a good weekend and thank you for stopping by!
