Are You Ready For Spring?

I'm ready for spring, I haven't been able to warm up my hands all day. This spring card is for todays SCS color challenge CC203, the colors we had to use are Garden Green, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point. Well I don't have any of these SU papers but these are pretty darn close. I used my new spring stamp from Stampendous. It is stamped with VersaMark ink and painted with Twinkling H2O's, I love the way you can blend them when used on water color paper.
Sorry about having to scan the card, Melanie took my camera to school today and I wanted to get this posted on the day of the challenge. I'll take a picture of the card tomorrow and replace it, photos look soooo much better.

Now here are two more pictures from CHA of the My Favorite Things booth. Unfortunately you can't see the cards very well, they really are stunning.

Here is a close up of one of the panels, they really are wonderful IRL. Well I'm off to make some hot tea so I can warm my hands while holding the cup. ~~Be sure to take a look at my "Top Commenter's" on the left side of my blog, this is automatically generated and will change depending how often people leave comments. Check out their blogs, they have wonderful cards.~~

Have a great day!

Love To You

I now have more Valentine's Day cards than I need but this was made for a sketch challenge over at Paper Craft Planet and it called for a big heart. The stamp set is "Light Heart Set" by Stampendous. It is stamped with VersaMark ink on light green paper and embossed with amethyst powder. The heart is stamped again on decorative paper which is then cut out and glued onto the center of the heart with "Love To You" stamped and embossed. The purple paper was embossed with the CuttleBug folder "Diamonds in the Rough" to match the diamond pattern of the heart.

So Sunday I went to CHA, it was sooooo fun! I took my camera planning on taking a lot of pictures but there was so much to look at and do, the camera wasn't taken out of my purse much. I did get these great pictures of my friends at Stampendous. Pam is on the left, she makes the cutest stuff and Fran the owner on the right. They had a cute pajama and slipper theme to match some new stamps.

I was able to sneak Pam away for a quick lunch, it was nice to finally see her. For those of you who read my blog, she's the one I was supposed to meet for a day of shopping and lunch around Christmas time, but she got snowed in, something that doesn't happen often here in Southern California.

And look what was on their feet, don't they look comfy! Really I don't know how comfortable they would be after several hours.

I'll post a couple more pictures next time. Have a wonderful week :)

Friend

The card I made today takes care of three challenges! Two challenges are over at Paper Craft Planet, one for the sketch and one for mojo cafe, to use your favorite stamp. The next challenge is over at OCC to use and emboss resist technique. Now on to how the card was made.
1. Stamp the butterfly from the Butterfly Beauties set by Stampendous on white glossy paper with VersaMark ink and emboss with white powder.
2. Sponge the panel with pink dye ink and sponge the edges with purple dye ink.
3. Stamp "friend" from Stampendous with black Brilliance ink on the bottom of the panel.
4. Apply three circle stickers by Stampendous in the center of the butterfly.
5. Layer onto black paper. Emboss white paper with a CuttleBug folder and layer onto purple and black panels. Glue down ribbon onto a white card, mount all pieces and a bow.
Now it's time to get some housework done before the hubby gets home. Have a great day :)

Simply The Best!

Oh I'm busy, busy, busy. This week Melanie has had waterpolo practice everyday and has had two games, in one she got punched in the nose and got a nose bleed. She was pulled out of the pool until the bleeding stopped and back in she went and hasn't had any problems with it. Greg has had basketball practice and a game this week, there sports activities seem to fall on the same days. Thank goodness for the crock pot, I don't think we would eat without it!

Now on to the card. The balloons are from my set "Everyday Chat", they are stamped with VersaMark ink, heat set and colored in with pencils. Glitter glue is added for a little sparkle. To help fill up the space I added a strip of decorative paper to the edge. The sentiment is stamped with VersaMark ink on pink paper that was cut into a tag shape and layered onto light green and brown papers. Star tickers were added to the corners and walla, your done.

Love To You

SCS has a limited supply challenge LSC202 today to use hearts and red, so here is my submission. I used a clear set "Mega Love" from Stampendous, I love this set, the font is really nice. The love is inked with rocket red Brilliance and the to you is inked with black Versa Fine. The heart is a Sizzix die that is popped up on foam squares, the corner punch is a SU punch and I don't know the brand of scallop punch I used but it us from Michael's. The black dots on the corner punches are stickers from Stampendous. Gold ribbon is run along the top border of the red paper, Fabri-Tac was used to glue it down.
~~~
It is crazy windy here, I'm hoping our trees don't blow over and it is supposed to be like this until Sunday night. I really don't like the wind, talk about a bad hair day!
Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.
Using UP Some Scraps
I have a drawer that I throw my stamped scraps into that didn't get used. Usually it is because I think I'll make two or three cards so I stamp multiples but don't get around to making the extras. I found this stamped flower in the drawer and thought it was time to use it and the decorative paper was a scrap also. I decided to use purples because of my friend Shelia, I was reading her blog a few days ago and she said she loved anything purple. With making cards for fall and Christmas, purple is a color that hasn't been used in awhile and it was time.
The flower is by SU and the sentiment and little dots are by Stampendous. After the flower was stamped in pink, the petals were shaded with pencils in a darker pink and purple then glitter was added to the top flower.
~~~
I have a fun new widget over on the left side of my blog, it lists the top commenters to my blog, I thought it was fun to see who comments the most. Thank you to those listed, I'll be visiting your blogs often :)

Here is a picture of the family, we all have USC football jerseys and I wanted a picture of us all wearing them. We went to The Picture People in the mall and got them done, this is a cute pose. Fight On Trojans!

40 Something

For this card I broke out the Twinkling H2O's, they blend so nicely. To begin with, the cake by Stampendous was stamped on watercolor paper with VersaMark ink and embossed with disco black. The image was then painted with Twinkling H2O's and blue chalk was used to add a shadow. Then the Twinkling H2O's were painted directly on the confetti stamp and randomly stamped at the top. Now for the decorative paper, it came from my Christmas paper pack I got last month and here they don't even look Christmasy! I love being able to use paper for multiple occasions :)
This is also for the Stamp Something challenge, for this week it is to use something new and it is the first time I'm getting this great stamp set inky.

Now for a few goofy pictures. My husband was off for two weeks at Christmas, it was really nice having the whole family home. The top is a picture of me and Greg at Chick-fil-a with our new Christmas cow that got a little cut off in the picture. I now have three Chick-fil-a cows in my kitchen, they're just too cute!
Below are Melanie and my hairy hubby Paul. Every year it is tradition for Paul to not shave during his two week Christmas vacation. Since Paul had to go back to work today his face is nice and smooth again, of course he still has a mustache :)

I don't know about you...

I don't know about you, but I never have enough birthday cards, we seem to go through them so fast! So here is a quick and easy one I made up for several challenges, LSC201 (limited supply) challenge over at SCS The challenge was to use some of your favorite things. So my favorite things on this card are, the ribbon, corner punch by SU, stickers and the stamp company Stampendous. There is also a challenge over at Stamp Something which is to use something new so I used my new Petal Plus set that I got inky for the first time. And last but not least the IC161 (inspiration challenge) at SCS.

I used the Petal Plus set and stamped the wings on decorative paper, cut them out and added glitter glue. The body is stamped in black, colored with mint Twinkling H2O's and covered in Dimensional Magic to make it glossy. Circle stickers are added to the sides of the "happy birthday" and to the top corners of the stamped image.

Here is the family celebrating the New York New Year's Eve! There is Paul my DH, Greg my DS, Melanie my DD and Alisa my DDs friend. Since we live in California we were celebrating at 9:00 and good thing to my DH and I tried to stay awake but just couldn't do it, of course the kids were up until the we hours of the morning.
Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year!
